Safari import is here! You can now import bookmarks, history, and passwords from Safari into ego (lite) — right from first-launch onboarding. Also works with Chrome, Edge, and Brave.

You asked how Jev could work with ego lite. So we gave it a fun job first: judge the X feed in real time. ego scrolls. Jev decides: slop or not. repeat. Fast decisions are a lot more fun when you can actually watch them happen. (toy experiment — the slop detector itself is definitely not perfect yet 💀)

Linux is definitely something we want to get to. We're currently focused on shipping Windows support first.

This is not the Wispr Flow website. GPT-6 Astra used ego (lite) to inspect the real one, then rebuilt it almost pixel for pixel. 28m33s. $8.02. The browser was the design file.

Thanks for flagging this. To clarify: ego lite does not collect or upload the browsing activity described in the screenshot. That data stays local on your device. ego and ego lite are different products: ego is a full AI browser with an ego-hosted agent, while ego lite is a local browser runtime used by your own coding agent, such as Claude Code or Codex. The privacy policy for ego lite reused broader language from ego without clearly reflecting that difference, which caused the confusion. That’s our mistake, and we’re fixing it now.

ego (lite) makes agent curiosity visible. We gave GPT 5.6 Sol a real browser and 10 free minutes in ego (lite). It followed a 500-year rabbit hole: wounded dogs → marine clocks → lunar navigation → forgotten human computers. This 1524 diagram is where it chose to stop.

We’ve been getting asked how ego (lite) stacks up against Obscura. So we sent both to research 100 GPT-6 Astra discussions on X and write a sourced report. Obscura kept failing, so the agent autonomously switched to ego (lite) instead. Full run in the video below 👇

Better computer-use models make the browser layer more important, not less. A lot of real work still lives behind logins, internal dashboards, legacy web apps, and software with no clean API or CLI. GPT-6 Astra × ego lite should be a very interesting test.

Fable 5.1 costs 7x more than GPT 5.6 Sol and took 3.3x longer to finish. We tested both on the same task: use ego (lite) to build an interactive 3D solar system. Fable's result is better. Whether it’s worth 7x the cost is a different question.

We ran Hermes Agent's new real-profile browsing alongside ego lite on the same Discord research job. Hermes' real-profile browsing: 14m 29s, 48 API calls. Hermes with ego lite: 13m 53s, 38 API calls, with a more detailed report. Small win for ego lite, solid first pass from Hermes.

Claude's built-in browser still needs work. We asked Claude to turn Reddit and LeetCode interview reports into a mock interview webpage. Its built-in browser hit the first CAPTCHA and stopped. Swapped in ego (lite) for the same task. Done. Comment "INTERVIEW" for the prompt.
