Quantum Vocabulary: Why post-quantum research is speeding up? This month, cryptographers broke two experimental post-quantum key exchange protocols. One fell in about 1,700 queries; a "hardened" version in just 180. In July, an AI model found a flaw in HAWK, another experimental post-quantum scheme, in about 60 hours, after two years of human review had missed it. The pace of discovery is accelerating. Here's the vocabulary to follow along. Post-quantum cryptography: New math designed so that even quantum computers can't break it. Signature: Proves "this transaction is really from me." On a blockchain, this is what protects your funds. Key exchange: Lets two parties agree on a secret to encrypt their communication, like your wallet connecting to a node. Cryptanalysis: The science of attacking cryptography to find weaknesses. It's how we learn what's truly safe. Research-stage vs. standardized: Experimental schemes get tested, and many fail. The ones that survive years of attacks get approved by NIST. So far, NIST's standards are holding up. Why it matters for crypto: More researchers, better tools and now AI are all probing cryptography faster than ever. That's good news: weak ideas get filtered out early. The lesson is to build only on standardized, battle-tested algorithms and not wait until quantum computers arrive. Where qVAULT fits: qVAULT protects your funds with an extra signature based on Falcon (FN-DSA), a NIST-selected post-quantum scheme. Even if your regular wallet key is broken, your vaulted funds stay locked. Quantum-lock your assets -> qVAULT.xyz

Just one of the examples from Open AI how AI already enables and will only speed up the quantum revolution. Anyone believing that we are many years from cryptographically relevant quantum computers becoming a reality, cannot ignore these signs anymore. Crypto industry must take these matters seriously and demonstrate how and when migration to post-quantum cryptography will take place. openai.com/index/codex-quant…

🚨BREAKING: $IONQ announcement: "A 20,000-physical-qubit IonQ quantum computer, once developed, is expected to be able to break secp256k1, the 256-bit elliptic curve used by blockchain technology such as Bitcoin, in just under 26 days. This architectural and resource-estimation study is consistent with IonQ's publicly stated roadmap, which targets systems with the relevant capabilities in the 2028 timeframe." The first firm putting a deadline to breaking elliptic curve used by all top 20 blockchains, not only Bitcoin. It's not 5 or 10 years from now, but in 2028. Let that sink in. Unless crypto industry does nothing to actually show, not merely talk, about quantum resistance, we are not gonna make it.

qLABS on stage in Brussels this week!
Taking the stage in Brussels speaking about innovation and startups in the EU, I also had a chance to present @qlabsofficial. Honestly, I had to share some true stories about why entrepreneurs flee Europe. I remain optimistic. There are a lot of smart people passionate about building businesses in Europe, but the current state of bureaucracy, fragmented markets and regulatory challenges make many set up companies elsewhere. The situation is remarkably different in countries like Estonia whose former PM @TaaviRoivas shared the success story of Estonian unicorns or in my home country Lithuania: fast digital services for everything, favourable tax regime, a supportive public sector. I hope the EU wakes up on time to implement more single market measures, EU Inc., a standard EU company setup to scale across borders and cut the red tape for all.

While we do not know when Q-Day will hit, many global top tech companies prepare for the 2029 migration deadline. Just a bit more than 2 years from now. @justinsuntron is right to say it out loud: if most or even a part of your assets are in crypto, even a small chance to lose them is not acceptable. Time to start quantum migration now. And until this happens, you can store your assets in a quantum-safe vault qVAULT.xyz.

Since April 2026, 3 of the 10 top Layer 1 chains moved from just having ideas or early stage conversations on quantum migration to showing concrete implementation roadmaps and even testing post-quantum cryptography on-chain. Reviewing the L1 Quantum Vulnerability Index published by qLABS in April, it is obvious that almost all Layer 1 chains are now actively researching and developing approaches for quantum-resistance. 3 out of 10 chains still lack full migration preparedness (MU = migration unpreparedness): @Bitcoin: While several new possible solutions have been proposed and even tested, there is no clear roadmap in place, the question of Satoshi’s coins is still open, every existing approach shows significant shortcomings when it comes to implementation. @monero:@ No updates since April this year, some approaches to quantum-preparedness have been discussed in the past, but no coherent roadmap is present. @HyperliquidX: Standing out even more as the only Top 10 chain with 0 developer discussions, 0 communicated commitment from the leadership team and no roadmap in place. It is encouraging to see how fast chains move to some more concrete ideas on how to become quantum resistant. It also needs to be mentioned that even if a technical path exists, it often comes with big tradeoffs (speed, transaction size, cost) which would change the way chains work in a significant way. How exactly the implementation of post-quantum cryptography could look like and how long it will take and how it will affect every chain, and the whole ecosystem remains to be seen.

Now that your hyperliquid:native is so precious, PROTECT IT! qVAULT.xyz is a quantum-safe vault with a double-gated protection for your HYPE on HyperEVM. How to? 1. Connect with your wallet: qVAULT.xyz is non-custodial 2. Lock your HYPE 3. Get your quantum-safe credentials Now, even if a quantum computer or any other malicious actor gets access to your wallet, your HYPE remains safe. Why? In order to unlock HYPE, an additional verification is required and it stays in your hands. More secure HYPE = better future for all.

qONE is live on @NestExchange Enjoying the APR yet? nest is a MetaDEX on HyperEVM running a ve(3,3) model, and it flips how most DEXs pay out. LPs earn NEST emissions, not trading fees. Trading fees go entirely to veNEST holders, people who lock NEST for governance. Every epoch, veNEST holders vote to direct emissions toward specific pools, more votes means more emissions means deeper liquidity. For anyone trading or holding qONE, the first quantum-resistant token on Hyperliquid powering qVAULT.xyz quantum-safe vault for HYPE, here's what that means: -> Trade qONE directly on nest with tight execution, fully HyperEVM-native, no bridging. -> LP the qONE-WHYPE pool and earn NEST emissions on top of your position. -> Holding veNEST? Vote qONE-WHYPE this epoch and claim the voting incentives live on the pool right now. More votes means more emissions, deeper qONE liquidity, and tighter spreads for everyone trading it. Protect your HYPE, back qONE, vote qONE-WHYPE. Trade: app.usenest.xyz/trade/swap LP: app.usenest.xyz/liquidity/de…

News from IBM: Welcome to the quantum era! Quantum computers are already doing something that sounds almost impossible: They are solving certain problems that classical computers cannot realistically solve = quantum advantage. But that creates a fascinating problem. If a quantum computer produces an answer that even our best classical computers cannot reproduce, how do we know the quantum computer is right? That is exactly the question IBM and its research partners are now trying to answer. Until recently, researchers often checked smaller versions of a quantum calculation with classical computers and then compared the results. Useful, but once the quantum computation becomes too complex, that approach stops working. So researchers need a different way to build trust. Instead of asking a classical computer to reproduce the final result, scientists are developing ways to check the quantum computation itself. They can look for errors during the calculation, compare outcomes across different quantum systems, and estimate how reliable the result is. Put simply: When classical computers can no longer check the answer, we need new ways to check the process. IBM highlights recent experiments where quantum systems produced results beyond what leading classical simulations could practically reproduce, while researchers still had strong reasons to trust those results. That is a big shift. Quantum advantage is no longer only about proving that a quantum computer can outperform a classical one. It is also about proving that we can trust quantum computers when they enter territory classical machines cannot follow. And this matters far beyond academic research. It matters for crypto too. Bitcoin, Ethereum and most blockchains rely on cryptography built around mathematical problems that are extremely difficult for classical computers to solve. Quantum computing is gradually changing our understanding of what “extremely difficult” means. Today’s quantum computers are not breaking Bitcoin or Ethereum. The problems being solved in these experiments are very different. But the direction is clear. Quantum machines are moving from theoretical promise toward real computational capabilities that classical systems cannot easily match. That is why qLABS focuses on quantum readiness today. Crypto should not start preparing when a cryptographically relevant quantum computer finally arrives. By then, the migration problem becomes much harder. Quantum advantage is becoming real. Quantum readiness needs to come first.
