Who wins this Grade 1 šŸŽšŸ§ The 3.15 at Down Royal looks a belting race. I’m keen to follow ROMEO COOLIO to Cheltenham - I think he will have an excellent chance at the festival and 10/3 is a good price today - however the eye is drawn to Rebeccas HAITI COULEURS at 17/2 who is known to go well fresh and she has secured the services of Paul Townend for this afternoons race. With BANBRIDGE looking at getting his preferred ground and the Ryan Air winner HEART WOOD lining up for this race - it’s got the potential to be one of the best contests of the weekend! Who wins it guys ? šŸ§šŸŽ

VIP tracker SATURDAY Small write up on todays trackers as I’m figuring out what to bet on today!!! Morning guys a very busy day of racing across the UK and Ireland with Day 2 of the Breeders Cup later this evening (will post a few fancies for that later) Can’t bet everything in this tracker today simply too much. The 3.15 at Down Royal looks a belting race. Let’s go through a few of these trackers ST IRENE looks up against it in the listed contest in the 1.45 and is the outisder of the 4 mares. KATERIA won this race last year and she looks hard to oppose for the Skeltons. In the 1.53 AYR - BLUE LAS looks a fair price at 9/2 - she has won 6 of her 11 starts and improved dramatically towards the end of last season to bag a listed race at Exeter where she best the 149 rated FUN FUN FUN. If she is fit, IMO she should be fav here despite carrying a decent chunk of weight - she should have no issues with the ground and this class 3 is surely easier than what she’s faced earlier in the year. VANDERPOEL 2.00 ASCOT has shaped like he has more improvement in him but he’s going to need to be fully fit to win here today and 9/2 looks short considering he’s up against 12 rivals - many with fitness on side. This is his first run since Cheltenham festival and it took him a few runs to warm up last season, he’s yet to win a race at this level so one i’ve left for today despite him having a fair chance. LAVIDA ADIVA has won a couple of listed races - this might be a bridge to far as she faces the likes of TAKE NO CHANCES and STRONG LEADER who are genuine G1 types. She runs carrying the same weight as the Skelton fav and has nearly 15lbs to find in the ratings. Seems unlikely and theres no EW play with only 4 left in the line up. TRANSMSSION was so poor at Market Rasen he’s hard to make a case for today but I’m sure he will go better than his last place from the other week. CALIFET EN VOL is a listed winner who should be suited to the Ascot track and he looks a big player in this at nice price of 3/1 if the rain stays away. He doesn’t seem to go well with any soft in the going conditions. The other concern is the yard form at present. RACE TO BASE can win the 3.30 at Wetherby but I am worried about the fav FILIBUSTERING who drops in class and has race fitness on side. With the price so short for RACE TO BASE it looks like one for multiples if anything. In the 3.43 at Ascot TRUSTINTIMES at 9/4 looks a poorly priced fav IMO despite winning 4 hurdle races last year. This race looks ultra competitive. With that said he has race fitness on side after a solid flat run two weeks ago at Nottingham so could still run out the winner here if at best.

A teacher gave a balloon to every student, who had to inflate it, write their name on it and throw it in the hallway. The teacher then mixed all the balloons. The students were then given 5 minutes to find their own balloon. Despite a hectic search, no one found their balloon. At that point, the teacher told the students to take the first balloon that they found and hand it to the person whose name was written on it. Within 5 minutes, everyone had their own balloon. The teacher said to the students: "These balloons are like happiness. We will never find it if everyone is looking for their own. But if we care about other people's happiness, we'll find ours too."

Born December 5, 1988, in Bargoed, South Wales, David Probert grew up in the Rhymney Valley, immersed in pony racing. At 16, he left for Newmarket’s British Racing School. Apprenticed to Andrew Balding at Kingsclere in 2007, he won first time out on Mountain Pass at Wolverhampton for trainer John Llewellyn. In 2008, aged 19, Probert tied William Buick for the British Flat Champion Apprentice title with 50 winners. His first Group win came in 2012 aboard Highland Knight in Germany’s Group 2 Oettingen-Rennen, repeated in 2014 on Here Comes When. That June, he rode at Royal Ascot, winning the Britannia Stakes on Born in Bombay, and finished 11th in the Epsom Derby on Impulsive Moment—the youngest Welshman to contest the Classic. Probert hit 100+ winners seven times, peaking at 169 in 2021, when he claimed the All-Weather Championship for 2021/22. He has 21 Group victories across Britain, Germany, Qatar, and Italy, including the 2016 Stewards’ Cup on Dancing Star—the first filly since 1992—and 2022 Lennox Stakes on Sandrine. Milestones: 1,000th win (June 8, 2020, Lingfield, Tronada); 1,500th (November 22, 2023, Wolverhampton, Cadogan Gardens). Welsh Flat Jockey of the Year in 2019 and 2022. No Group 1 win yet—closest a 150-1 Derby second on Hoo Ya Mal (2022). A 2023 kick from Bits and Bobs at Windsor left him bruised but unscathed. In 2025, he sits seventh in the Flat standings with 70 wins from 531 rides (13% strike rate) and holds a six-month Hong Kong license from July 17 to February 17, 2026. With 1,686+ British wins—11th among active jockeys—Probert remains Balding’s key ally, contributing over Ā£9 million in prize money. Rooted in Welsh grit, he mentors young riders and proves consistency outshines flash. As he heads to Hong Kong, Probert’s legacy is one of resilience and quiet excellence in a sport of highs and hard falls.

John Gosden, born March 30, 1951, in Lewes, England, began training in California in 1979 after assisting Vincent O’Brien and Sir Noel Murless. His U.S. breakthrough came with Bates Motel (1983 Santa Anita Handicap, Eclipse Award) and Royal Heroine (1984 Breeders’ Cup Mile). Returning to Newmarket in 1989, he trained at Stanley House, then Manton from 2000, and Clarehaven Stables from 2006. Early UK successes included Shantou (1996 St Leger) and Benny the Dip (1997 Derby). Partnering Frankie Dettori, he dominated the 2010s: five Trainers’ Championships (2012, 2015, 2018–2020). Icons like Kingman (2014 Sussex Stakes), Golden Horn (2015 Derby, Arc), Cracksman (three Champion Stakes), and Enable (11 Group 1s, two Arcs, 2017–18) defined his era. Stradivarius won three Ascot Gold Cups (2018–2020). Career: over 3,000 winners worldwide, 100+ Group 1s, Ā£100m+ in prize money. In 2021, son Thady—born April 1995, University of Bristol History of Art graduate—became joint licensee. Thady, with over 300 global winners including Nashwa (2022 Oaks), has strengthened Juddmonte ties. Together, they won the 2023 Trainers’ Championship (192 wins), edging Aidan O’Brien. Highlights: Palace Pier’s miler dominance, Mishriff’s 2021 Eclipse, and 2025 Royal Ascot haul—five wins, including Field of Gold (St James’s Palace Stakes), Ombudsman (Prince of Wales’s), and Trawlerman (Gold Cup). As of October 2025, they rank second in prize money (Ā£5.4m, 102 wins, 22% strike rate), with Audience (Lockinge) and Friendly Soul (Prix de l’OpĆ©ra). Setbacks include 2024’s fourth-place finish due to weather, Dettori’s exit, and a thin Classic crop. John has warned of British racing’s depth issues. Yet, 2026 Derby hopes (Damysus, Nightwalker) and Lead Artist signal renewal. The Gosdens’ legacy is dynastic: Clarehaven, once Pretty Polly’s home, now blends John’s tactical mastery with Thady’s modernity. With 3,000+ British winners, an OBE (John, 2017), and a focus on welfare and global bloodstock, they mentor the next generation while chasing more Classics. In a sport of fleeting glory, their consistency endures.

User Friendly (foaled 4 February 1989), a bay mare by Slip Anchor out of Rostova (by Blakeney), stands as the last winner of the Fillies’ Triple Crown, achieved in 1992. Trained by Clive Brittain at Newmarket’s Carlburg Stables and owned by Bill Gredley, she was bred in Britain by Stetchworth Park Stud. Her Classic season began with the Epsom Oaks (6 June 1992), where, ridden by George Duffield, she won by four lengths from Market Booster, with the field 12 lengths back to third. On 27 June at The Curragh, she captured the Irish Oaks by three lengths from the French-trained Wixon despite being hampered early. The St Leger at Doncaster (12 September) saw her become the first filly to win since 1985, prevailing by 1½ lengths from the colts Bonny Scot and Sonus under a confident ride. Earlier, in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (25 July 1992) at Ascot, User Friendly (6/4 favourite) defeated St Jovite—Europe’s top-rated three-year-old colt—by a short head in a dramatic finish, earning a career-best Timeform rating of 130, the highest for a three-year-old filly since Pawneese (1976). Her only defeat came in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (4 October 1992) at Longchamp, finishing third, 1½ lengths behind Subotica and St Jovite on heavy ground. She raced once more at four, finishing second in the Coronation Cup (9 June 1993) to White Muzzle before retirement due to a fetlock injury. As a broodmare at Beauchamp Stud, she produced nine foals, including Eswarah (2005 Oaks winner by Unfuwain). User Friendly died on 15 March 2007, aged 18, from natural causes. Legacy: Timeform ranks her joint-third among post-war British-trained fillies (with Blue Wind). Her 1992 Triple Crown remains the most recent by any horse. She is celebrated for versatility, stamina, and courage against elite colts. šŸŽšŸ†ā¤ļø

xG in a nutshell: every shot gets a value between 0 and 1 based on how often similar chances have gone in. Opta gives every penalty 0.79. Handy for spotting teams playing better than the table says, but one match is a tiny sample. 18+ BeGambleAware allsportstips.com/2026/10/30…

Frederick James Archer, born January 11, 1857, in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, to former jockey William Archer and wife Sarah, apprenticed at 11 to Mathew Dawson in Newmarket in 1868. Nicknamed ā€œThe Tin Manā€ for his gaunt 5’10ā€, 8st 3lb frame, he debuted in 1870 on Atholine at Chesterfield, winning his first race that October on Little Lady at Newmarket for Joseph Dawson. His first Classic came in 1874—the 2,000 Guineas on Atlantic. Archer’s 17-year career (1870–1886) produced 2,748 British winners—a record until Gordon Richards in 1947—with a 21.5% strike rate. He won 13 consecutive Champion Jockey titles (1874–1886), amassing 2,794 total wins (including Ireland). His 21 Classics remain unmatched: five Derbies (1877 Silvio, 1880 Bend Or, 1881 Iroquois, 1885 Melton, 1886 Ormonde), five Oaks (1877 Placida, 1878 Jannette, 1882 St. Marguerite, 1885 Lonely, 1886 Miss Jummy), six St Legers, four 2,000 Guineas, and one 1,000 Guineas. Highlights include the 1886 Triple Crown on Ormonde (unbeaten in 15 starts) and 1885 Derby-Oaks double on Melton and Lonely. He rode for the Duke of Westminster, Lord Falmouth, and partnered St. Simon and Wheel of Fortune. Tragedy shadowed genius. Chronic weight-making via sweating, laxatives, and ā€œArcher’s purgeā€ caused kidney damage and depression. Typhoid in 1886 weakened him further. On November 8, 1886, aged 29, distraught over common-law wife Nellie Rose’s death in childbirth (November 1885) and fearing decline, he fatally shot himself at Falmouth Lodge, Newmarket. His legacy transformed racing: pioneering front-running tactics, professionalizing jockeyship, and inspiring the Archer Memorial Fund. Buried in Newmarket, his statue stands at Cheltenham. As Richards said, ā€œArcher was the greatest who ever lived.ā€ His 2,748 wins and 21 Classics remain benchmarks—a cautionary tale of genius consumed by sport’s demands.
