Use pixi global to install any project from source now.
Pixi global supports the full package spec to configure the neccesary information to install it directly, without a pixi.toml.

uv has become ubiquitous enough that I haven't used default python toolchain, or others, in more than a year. Every project I've seen is uv now.

PEP 723 only covers Python and PyPI, so Pixi reads tool.pixi for the rest.
Which means conda dependencies in a standalone script.
