How exactly is living in a 'civilised' country in the West any better than just selling literally everything and moving to Southeast Asia?
The excuses of the past, like unstable infrastructure, dodgy legal system, political corruption - yeah, absolutely true, but look around you.
The legal system in most Western countries has been feminised to an extremely dangerous extent.
The wrong people are not punished for anything and the right people are punished for seeking truth.
Words are now dangerous, critiquing the establishment is dangerous, defending your land from foreigners imported by the State using your money against your will is not allowed.
We are very much in the death throes of not only collapse, but the transition to a third world society of low trust. You won't wake up and notice this immediately, it's a process that happens over decades and we are past the point of no return.
Political corruption? Our Prime Minister just used $6m of your money to upgrade his favourite golf club in an area he owns a property. His cabinet spends all their time enacting draconian legislation to make people fear critiquing them.
'Misinformation' this 'disinformation' that.
Who decides? Albo's woke communist feminist sidekick, who can't even string a single legible sentence together without sounding likes she's lecturing a kindergarten class.
Infrastructure and healthcare? Yeah still above Asia for now, but a few more million immigrants and I wouldn't be so sure of that.
Social cohesion? Good fucking luck. The government has imported immigrants from every corner of the Earth with nothing in common except disdain for each other's extreme ideologies and religions.
And these are low skilled people whose only source of income is about to be ravaged by AI and robotics.
The West has a serious problem and there is a very real risk that they try distract you from who caused these problems (the government), by starting a war to distract you.
The final phase of Dalio's Big Debt Cycle always comes down to this.
Do you fix your country's internal problems, or do you seek an external problem (war) to stop your population from revolting.
We are heading towards very big problems.

The last time US Treasury yields were this high, total US national debt stood at just $8.9 trillion.
Today, US debt stands at $40.1 trillion. That's +$31.2 trillion more, or over 4.5 TIMES higher.
This means every 1 percentage point in the average cost of servicing the debt now translates to ~$401 billion per year in interest expense.
In 2007, the same 1 percentage point translated to just ~$89 billion.
That’s an additional ~$312 BILLION in annual interest expense for every percentage point increase in borrowing cost.
This is a vastly different situation than it was 19 years ago.
The bond market matters more now than ever.

If you read stories of yesteryear it was a very common trope 50 years ago for some boomer to be like 'and so I decided to travel for a while after dropping out of high school, and then when I came back I walked into some factory/office, said hi to the guy running it and he gave me a job on the spot.
Next thing I know I'm running the company 10 years later, and didn't have any experience in the thing I was doing'.
That never happens anymore.
People instead are forced to get into mountains of debt just for 'maybe' a look, then they are overqualified, paid to do menial tasks, for shit pay, and it takes them forever to find a job, and even longer to work there way up a ladder that no longer exists.
We live in a deeply corrupted, broken economy. It's time for it all to end. There is no good reason for the current economic system to continue in its current form.
A fiat economy is worse than slavery. At least slaves knew they were slaves.
The best thing that could happen to the world is the US Dollar imploding.
Better for everyone to start again from zero than pretend there is a semblance of honour and integrity left in playing the current game - it's irreparably broken.
I see no scenario where the status quo continues another decade, and at the pace things are going I think either the world is back at war by 2030 or the dollar has hypeirnflated, maybe both.
Some type of major world event that breaks the system is inevitable, and it's coming soon imo.

One of the great modern tragedies is the switching cost associated with normal life routines has become insanely high.
Wanna quit your job and travel? Good luck, when you come back you'll be searching 6-12 months for a job and might never find one. Then when you look for a rental you'll have the same problem and it'll be 30% more expensive than when you left.
We've made normal living prohibitively expensive for all but the richest people in society, and turned everyone else into a slave.

So apparently an AI 'hacked' some shitty Aus government website.
Rather than larping on about it and spending millions more of taxpayer funds on yet another 'taskforce' of retarded bureaucrats, why doesn't the government simply release the technical details of exactly what happened?
Because there are two main possibilities here:
1) The AI revealed a very basic security issue which is the fault of the humans, for example a file storage bucket exposed with the wrong permissions, enabling read access to file names (likely)
2) The AI 'hacked' the website through one or many sophisticated attack vectors to gain access to unauthorised data, in a system that was otherwise deemed secure.
There is a very big difference between the two.
Right now all the government has to do is release a very simple technical explanation of precisely what happened.
But instead of that, they are running around holding press conferences like the sky is falling, because they are all a bunch of technically illiterate, corrupt, self-serving bureaucrats.
Albo will no doubt use this to accelerate whatever communist agenda is next on his list.
The public deserve transparency about what exactly happened, not more political machinations by incompetent idiots.

if you read between the lines of what has publicly been said, all they've said is it accessed internal file names? That sounds exactly like incorrect bucket permissions for file storage, enabling the AI to read what files were inside but not access them.
Of course we don't know, this is all speculation, because our retarded government won't simply tell us what happened. They will kick up a song and a dance, waste tens of millions of dollars investigating it, and then use it to justify more draconian legislation that gives themselves even more power.

The data is simply a lie.
Essentially there are two camps on the job market take:
Econ / finance people: “LOOK AT THE DATA!! Plenty of jobs and labor market is strong. Unemployment is 4.1%”
