they say you can tell a lot about a person by what they're willing to fight for.
with caligo, i think you can tell even more by who she's willing to protect…
so you don't get lost, caligo is one of the liberators at the heart of the @hamieverse
which is a fictional universe built around a city controlled by 'aetherion', a powerful regime that maintains order through surveillance and control.
liberators like caligo are the pawns pushing back against the system built to control every part of their lives.
also known as “midnight strike”, caligo is depicted as a cat and part of the “underground”, a hidden community of resistance outside aetherion's control.
on the surface, that stance makes the character easy to figure out, but that doesn't tell you much about who she actually is.
for that, we'll have to look into her relationship with fellow close comrades.
one of the most important is hikari;
before becoming part of the "underground", hikari spent the first seven years of his life inside an aetherion experimental facility, and caligo was the first person he met there who wasn't wearing a lab coat.
they eventually escaped together and remained connected through the "underground".
years later, hikari becomes the underground's head of surveillance, using his ability to monitor and understand the systems around them to help keep everyone safe.
through all of this, caligo remains one of the people he trusts.
then there's kael;
kael eventually becomes the underground's head of defence, but when he first entered the “underground”, caligo thought he wasn't to be trusted.
he had to prove himself before she trusted him...
