This week on @rePROsFightBack I talk to the wonderful Dr. Jennifer Sherwood with @amfAR about what the impact of the withdrawal of US support for HIV/AIDS funding is impacting the fight against AIDS #PEPFAR#podcast
This week, Dr. Jennifer Sherwood, Director of Research in the Foundation for AIDS Research (@amfAR) public policy office, talks to us about attacks to PEPFAR, the populations that are impacted, and some recent protections to PEPFAR’s crucial work: reprosfightback.com/episodes…
Attacks on health care have not & do not stop with abortion care.
They correspond with efforts to reduce/eliminate access to birth control, evidence-based sexual health education & the hard-fought protections for millions to have the power to decide the terms of their own lives.
PEPFAR, or the President’s Emergency Program for AIDS Relief, started in 2003 and is the largest country-to-country bilateral investment in addressing any single disease. #PEPFAR is not only funding, but expertise, and has saved millions of lives since the Bush administration.
