The First Amendment protects our freedom of speech, but it doesn’t ensure a culture that respects it. FIRE’s latest college survey⁠ found that nearly a third of college students consider using violence to stop a campus speaker acceptable. That stat is shocking and should concern every American. When students learn to silence opposing views instead of examining them, education stops. A society cannot grow wiser if people are afraid to question its assumptions. So what do we do about it? The work starts when our children are young. As parents, grandparents, and educators, we have a responsibility to teach America’s founding principles, including why free speech protects views we disagree with. We should never be bashful about these conversations. They belong in our homes, our classrooms, and the way we help children understand the world. That is why I created Little Patriots: to help children understand the foundations of our freedom and their responsibility to preserve it. The days of defrauding the American taxpayer are coming to an end. For too long, many in the homelessness industrial complex have tried to pull the wool over the eyes of the American people. Instead of helping those in need, these people are lining their own pockets. I applaud @SecretaryTurner and AG Blanche and the entire Trump administration for bringing these fraudsters to justice.

You can’t teach students about what happened on 9/11 without discussing why it happened, and you cannot solve a problem without being able to define it. Charlie Kirk did not simply speak about his faith. He lived it. Faith was woven into every part of Charlie’s life: the way he treated people, the way he approached difficult conversations, the way he led, and the way he prepared himself before stepping onto a stage. The world lost a marvelous light with the passing of Dolly Parton today. Her rise from humble beginnings to superstardom inspired millions over the years. I always admired how she turned her love for reading into a project that continues to serve untold numbers of kids through her Imagination Library. May God be with her loved ones. Rest in peace, Dolly.

When something isn’t working, we need to try something else rather than throw good money after bad. In 2017 HUD continued the Housing First approach to homelessness. But the problem got worse, not better. By 2020, I was working to end the federal government’s Housing First policy, and by 2022, I was publicly advocating to end Housing First. This is repugnant and heartbreaking. These women are celebrating the signing of the new statue in Massachusetts that allows abortion up to the moment of birth and treating it as a victory for women. It is anything but.  It authorizes the taking of a human life.  Even the people cheering this law would admit that the baby, if born, would be a person who cannot be murdered just because the mother wants to.  There is no medical, legal, or, most importantly, moral basis to treat an unborn baby at that point any differently.  Horrifying. Thomas Jefferson observed in the context of slavery that "Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that his justice cannot sleep forever."  I pray that God's vengeance will not exact too high a price for this modern-day abomination.

As a pediatric neurosurgeon and a man of faith, I know every child bears the fingerprints of our Creator. A difficult diagnosis does not diminish a child’s worth. McKenna West showed extraordinary courage in defending Gabriel’s life. Candy and I are praying for him and his medical team.

This Administration will not stand idly by while some in the medical community harm our children in search of profit. That is why today I am referring this matter to the Department of Justice to launch a federal criminal investigation. We will stop this fraud and restore trust in public health. Thanks to @SecKennedy, @ADM_Christine and @AGToddBlanche for their tremendous work to shed light on the disastrous consequences of these radical practices. I look forward to working with @TheJusticeDept to ensure we hold anyone who has violated federal law accountable.
