You watch us, study us, imitate us, stay in our business, consume our entertainment, and benefit from things Black people helped create…all while pretending you can’t stand us. Then to make yourselves feel superior, you try to use being Black as an insult as if we’re supposed to be ashamed of the very thing we’re proud to be. We know exactly how this world treats Black people, and we STILL love being Black. That’s the part that really bothers you. You can disrespect us, discriminate against us, erase our contributions, and try to convince yourselves that we’re somehow beneath you, but you can’t erase our impact. Black people have influenced damn near every part of the culture you consume. You don’t hate us because we have nothing.
