It was 50:50 split, actually more like 40:60 in favor of t4.
Nowadays tekken is dragged for years, thats why nobody went back to t7 from t8 and from t7 to ttt2 because its too much of the same meal.
T5.0 and tag are much more popular on arkadyzja than t4, reflection of the past
It must have been so nice to be a Tekken player back in the T4 era
People were smart enough to realize the game sucked and just went back to TTT
AND they were only stuck with a shitty game for like 3 years then got arguably the best game in the series with DR

Because ps2 is where you have to choose:
- work on single title rollback recomp/decomp/slippi style etc.
- or take the delay based netplay and enjoy compatibility, performance/
accessibility
For me - delay based ps2 netplay was the obvious choice, optimal.

- every single xbox d-pad is ass
- ps3 was compat with every chinese pcb, 360 youre soldering official pads or buying expensive hardware to play
- no crossplay for decades, so playerbase pushing you to ps
I just played xbox mvc3 here at first attack. Jesus christ what a difference. It felt so good. Almost made me want to keep playing. Why the hell we let Sony take over again?

Tag2 is that toxic girfriend you all dumped 10+ years ago with no regret. Now you remember only the good times and want her back. Im that real friend trying to save your life, she's still toxic + now with 6 kids, fathers unknown

Tag2 rollback is like attempting df2,pewgf in evo grand final where staple would kill for the win.
So im gonna do the staple, take trophy home(T3,Tag1,T5DR and T6 with perfect rollback) and spend time with family,because gettin to grand final was hard enough

One of the only people with the current potential to restore the most faithful Tekken game back to life before the modern fighting game esports/spectator slop era thinks it isnt worth it so now I have to watch people play rollback versions of UMvC3 and USF4 forever like this

Explain me wtf with this tag2 glazing, ppl acting like it would save the world today,when:
- commercial/popularity failure when it was current
- hard to play
- insane input lag/netplay
- after 5 years of tag2 - t7 felt like glass of cold water in hell, you all forgot? lol

If the objective is a 5 minutes of fame via twitter post about TTT2 recomp - you can have it next month.
If you want high performance, deterministic Tag 2 port with rollback netplay thats gonna run on average PC -then its a whole another game.
Curious to know what the roadblocks are for a TTT2 recomp and what exactly makes it harder than other Xbox 360 games getting recompiled.

Namco will never implement robust anticheat because it would cost too much work and backend compute.

On paper tag2 solo is the one but community decided we have to play tag mode because thats whats written on the box.
T5DR is the perfect retirement tekken so thats what im cooking.

Recomp using brand new tooling wont be any better than Duckstation with decade of optimizations.
However, within our team we have two guys working on proper Tekken 3 decomp with deep understanding of the game code/gfx, not some AI vommit and machine code.
This decomp will lead to proper Tekken 3 port, with netplay built in inside game menu, ranked queue, 6-8 player lobbies etc. At that point integrating it with Arkadyzja will be redundant.
Once everything will be ready - im gonna take the wheel and do my part - netplay/ranked/server side.

do you have an opinion on if the recent Tekken 3 recomp could be included in Arkadyzja some day?

Decomp project (3sx) will be better than any 3s official release if they ever release another one.
Sadly 3s dads cant see it. They gonna shit on the guy making it(for free) until its done.
There is no way capcom gonna put this much effort into something with so small roi
Bruh, how is there still not an official release of 3rd Strike that's arcade perfect/near arcade perfect. Fightcade, I get you. But a real, supported game from the creators. 30th Anniversary IS NOT IT. Emulation comes with issues. I just want a focused place for everyone to play easily. The latest GameNewton qualifiers was sick.

The only person who can truly answer which tekken is the best one is @RyanJosephHart who played them all, at the time when they were relevant and at competitive level.
For me, as a whole package, nothing came close to Tekken 3 but you had to be there in 1998 as PS1 owner to know why, the hype was unreal.
I interviewed over 30 Tekken 8 Pros and Streamers and asked them "What is the best Tekken ever made?" Here's a sneak peek of @Tibetanotk answer...
