This has been a years long annoyance on X
I think the solution would be to either 1) not show a stale timeline, or 2) show stale timeline with a banner on top "this is stale, to see new posts pull down" or something
The annoyance of opening X, then seeing a post, then it disappearing within a second when timeline loads is big :D
