It is shocking that a doctor has made a very derogatory comment which has no scientific reason. B positive blood ( for example) is same whether it flows in a so called high caste Hindu or the so called low caste Hindu. The doctor could be charged for dereliction of his duty.

I think there’s a misunderstanding/miscommunication here. I have worked in Blood Centres since I’m a Pathologist and many a times we refuse to accept blood from replacement donors when we cannot establish a clear connection of the donor with the patient or the patient’s family. This is to discourage professional donors (since these donors have higher risk of transmitting Transfusion Transmissible Infections like HIV, HBV, HCV) . Hence we ask if they belong to the same village or are family or work together. They need to prove that they know each other and that the donor has not been paid money to donate. Anyways, the blood being collected is not the blood the patient will receive. We give a blood bag to patient (and this blood bag has no identifiers other than a BB no and the blood group) in exchange for the blood that is donated (called replacement donation).
