Recently wrapped up my Software Engineering Internship at Figma in NYC! I had the opportunity to intern on FigFile Content, which owns Figma’s blob storage platform enabling product developers to store their blob data through the same data model without worrying about the underlying primitives, helping them move faster with confidence. I specifically worked on a canary that helped the team reduce time-to-detection on data migration failures by 99%, and further reduced the canary’s runtime by 40% through parallelization. Along the way, I: - Learned a lot about Temporal, S3, Datadog, and Ruby - Read way too much terraform - Identified queries that mismatched business requirements, and fixed an N+1 to make a query 10x faster - Got exposure into media file formats amongst much more. Tons of really smart people over at Figma, I had a blast :)
