Best to stay silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt. General News, living and cold beer and Rioja 🍷

More than 125,000 animals are killed every year for trophies. There should be a worldwide ban on trophy hunting.

British/Scots have a wickedly funny sense of humor. Police pull over a driver and this happens ... Officer: Suck into this. Driver: Suck? Do I not blow? Officer: You suck these new ones. ... Now, what did you say your name was again? 😂

So Pete Hegseth claims a US Sub’ is the first to sink a ship by torpedo since WW2. Go tell that to the families of 323 souls who lost their lives on the General Belgrano during the Falklands War.

None of this is a hoax. Donald Trump and the Trump administration have repeatedly used the word "hoax" in various ways. What part is a hoax? Please retweet this important video.

Watching Trump deliver a rambling speech in the Knesset. Horrible man and a total clown and the audience lapping up his verbal shit. What an evil twisted excuse for a man, shameful.

Rest in peace, Patricia Routledge 🙏🏻 In memory of her, I encourage everyone to read these words of hers from February last year. Whether young or old, you're bound to get something out of it. ***** "I’ll be turning 95 this coming Monday. In my younger years, I was often filled with worry — worry that I wasn’t quite good enough, that no one would cast me again, that I wouldn’t live up to my mother’s hopes. But these days begin in peace, and end in gratitude. My life didn’t quite take shape until my forties. I had worked steadily — on provincial stages, in radio plays, in West End productions — but I often felt adrift, as though I was searching for a home within myself that I hadn’t quite found. At 50, I accepted a television role that many would later associate me with — Hyacinth Bucket, of Keeping Up Appearances. I thought it would be a small part in a little series. I never imagined that it would take me into people’s living rooms and hearts around the world. And truthfully, that role taught me to accept my own quirks. It healed something in me. At 60, I began learning Italian — not for work, but so I could sing opera in its native language. I also learned how to live alone without feeling lonely. I read poetry aloud each evening, not to perfect my diction, but to quiet my soul. At 70, I returned to the Shakespearean stage — something I once believed I had aged out of. But this time, I had nothing to prove. I stood on those boards with stillness, and audiences felt that. I was no longer performing. I was simply being. At 80, I took up watercolour painting. I painted flowers from my garden, old hats from my youth, and faces I remembered from the London Underground. Each painting was a quiet memory made visible. Now, at 95, I write letters by hand. I’m learning to bake rye bread. I still breathe deeply every morning. I still adore laughter — though I no longer try to make anyone laugh. I love the quiet more than ever. I’m writing this to tell you something simple: Growing older is not the closing act. It can be the most exquisite chapter — if you let yourself bloom again. Let these years ahead be your TREASURE YEARS. You don’t need to be famous. You don’t need to be flawless. You only need to show up — fully — for the life that is still yours. With love and gentleness, Patricia Routledge ***** Once more, rest in peace. 🤍

President Trump, I’ve seen men bleed out in the Ardennes for a flag you’re not fit to hold, let alone wrap yourself in. You think bluster is bravery, but I’ve led men through hell—and you couldn’t march through rain without whining about your hair. You dodge the draft, praise dictators, and call that strength? Hell, I’ve stared down Rommel’s panzers and pissed in the Rhine. You, on the other hand, ran from bone spurs and hide behind Twitter like a pampered child playing general. You talk about purging patriots and locking up dissenters like that’s power. That’s not power—it’s cowardice wrapped in a cheap suit and a bad tie. I fought Nazis. You invite them. I liberated camps. You threaten to build new ones. I defended democracy with a .45 and a tank. You disgrace it with a pen and a podium. So let me make this crystal clear, sunshine: if you had stood before me in ’44 spouting this treasonous filth, I’d have court-martialed you so fast your gold toilet would’ve flushed itself. You are a disgrace to the presidency and to this Republic. And if you keep marching this country toward dictatorship, don’t expect history to salute you. It’ll spit. Peter Newberry

I hear the Chinese have a sense of humour over tariffs. The retaliatory tariff is 34%, Not 33 or 35, not 30 or 40. But very specifically 34. You know why? To humiliate the felon trump👇

I have no idea who this beautifully eloquent Irish lady is but I absolutely love her 💚 Every word she said about Irishness is so true and every word she said about how that cretin Conor McGregor is spot on.
