the idea of mobilising diaspora capital for infrastructure is commendable. But I don’t understand why a prayer gathering has to be presented as the opportunity cost. These people didn’t gather because Nigeria lacks investment opportunities. They gathered to practise their faith. The same person can attend NSPPD today, buy government bonds tomorrow, invest in Nigerian businesses and still send money home. Diaspora remittances to Nigeria were about $21.8 billion in 2025 alone, according to CBN data. Worship and capital formation are not competing uses of the same human being. Build the investment vehicle. Make the economics attractive. Nigerians will decide whether to invest. But we don’t need to turn every successful religious gathering into “imagine if this money went to bla bla , think pieces .

Imagine leaving your politicians to bully Pastor Jerry Eze. Nigerians want their pastors to save them while they vote for evil people for ₦5k. Some even vote on credit. Leave Pastor Jerry Eze alone, he isn't your Messiah.

I am a Christian. But I'm not religious. Christianity is not a religion. It's a relationship between human and a loving God. I don't serve and obey Jesus in order be accepted by Him. I serve and obey Jesus because I love Him, and He loved me first. This is Christianity.

The problem is that many of you have zero principles and zero values. You cannot say you believe in the human right of people to practise a religion (or no-religion), and be attacking those same people when they exercise their right to worship their God. You want to spend your time in a stadium screaming to Davido, someone else wants to go see Jerry Eze. Leave them alone. Let everyone do what they choose. Stop crying over someone else’s choices.

If the gathering is about football, you are ok. If the gathering is about comedy, you are ok. If the gathering is about music, you are ok. But once the gathering is about God, you start convulsing and crying. So people gathering is not the problem. The problem is that you hate God.

Dear young folks, If anyone tells you , bcos you have now left Naija , you are in USA , Canada , Australia or anywhere better than Africa Economically . A lost people just because they chose to go to a stadium to go serve God? I’ve learnt that a lot of people gain deep joy by association, especially in this world full of trouble, and the church is one of those associations that gives hope, peace and a sense of belonging. If they genuinely feel better through that kind of gathering, what exactly is the problem? They are not committing crimes, all they’re saying is live a good life, pray(manifest good things into your life), be a peaceful person, stay decent and serve God. I don’t think that should be anybody’s problem. Let people find peace in whatever helps them become better human beings.

Musicians in Nigeria sell out stadiums filled with youths. *silence* People go out to watch football in tens of thousands. *silence* People go to nightclubs, attend events. *silence* Christians organize a crusade. *Mad people*: See what they are doing when they should be protesting against bad government. Yada Yada Yada. Double agents of Satan! You hate the body of Christ for no reason. Admit it, stop cutting through corners.

The very fact that they are now living in a better economy and yet still pursuing God either to know him more or have their needs met; as a Christian, I rejoice that people are seeking the one true God and not false idols and religions! Christ is King!

Today is Sunday. The same foolish people who spent Friday and Saturday partying, smoking igbo, sleeping around, getting drunk, doing threesomes, wasting hours on social media and calling nonsense “entertainment” will suddenly have plenty to say about Christians who choose to spend Sunday worshipping God!!! They will tell Christians to “use their time productively” Yet, outside church, many of them have nothing meaningful to show for all the time they have spent not going to church!!! The irony is even funny to me!!! People who spend their free time destroying their bodies, having black lips, wasting their minds and chasing empty pleasure somehow feel qualified to mock people who choose prayer, worship, discipline and faith!!! Before you try to critic or laugh at someone for how they choose to spend their time worshipping God, take a hard look at what you did with your own time!!! Have a blessed sabbath, if it pleases God!!!
