Are others hearing that insurance companies in the US are starting to exclude ransom payments? Have not heard or seen that directly but was just told that through a long game of telephone...

This would make sense. If I'm an insurance company, why would I write a policy for a house known to have bad wiring that's likely to burn down at any time? Also: x.com/edstromandrew/status/1…

More than that, the whole industry is contracting, with some carriers denying policy renewal for some (heavily hit ransomware) industries.

Only public announcement was from AXA (only in France). In the U.S., insurance companies seem to be quickly raising premiums.
