4⃣ Import Attributes
ECMAScript excitement 😉 Congrats to @NicoloRibaudo on advancing both Import Attributes & JSON Modules to Stage 4 at @TC39 today 🎉 It introduces the `with` keyword for imports. Chrome successfully unshipped the `assert` keyword 👍 github.com/tc39/proposal-imp…

4⃣ Promise.try
ECMAScript excitement 😉 Congrats to @ljharb on advancing Promise.try to Stage 4 at @TC39 today 🎉 It allows a regular sync function to be invoked, promisifying the result. Throws become rejections. Promise.try(f) ...is like... new Promise(resolve => resolve(f()))

4⃣ RegExp Modifiers
ECMAScript excitement 😉 Congrats to @rbuckton on advancing RegExp Modifiers to Stage 4 at @TC39 today 🎉 It lets you change the active regular expression flags within a subexpression. For example enabling case/multiline/single-line mode. github.com/tc39/proposal-reg…

3⃣ Atomics.pause
ECMAScript excitement 😉 Congrats to @_shu on advancing Atomics.pause to Stage 3 at @TC39 today 🎉 Atomics.pause(IterationNumber) permits short finite-time spin locks on the main thread whilst remaining CPU-efficient. github.com/tc39/proposal-ato…

3⃣ Math.sumPrecise
ECMAScript excitement 😉 Congrats to @bakkoting on advancing Math.sumPrecise to Stage 3 at @TC39 today 🎉 Math.sumPrecise([1, 2]); // 3 It performs full-precision floating point summation on an iterable. So no need to use reduce() for basic sum 👍

2⃣.7⃣ Error.isError
ECMAScript excitement 😉 Congrats to @ljharb on advancing Error.isError to Stage 2.7 @TC39 today 🎉 Error.isError() allows you to test if a value is an Error instance. It works even if the Error originates from another Realm, similar to Array.isArray 👍 github.com/tc39/proposal-is-…

2⃣.7⃣ Iterator Sequencing
ECMAScript excitement 😉 Congrats to @smooshMap on advancing the Iterator Sequencing proposal to Stage 2.7 at @TC39 today 🎉 It helps you create an iterator by stitching together a sequence of iterators. let it = Iterator.concat(it1, it2, ...) github.com/tc39/proposal-ite…

I remember a lot of people hated the fact that their favorite language is changing when ES6 came about. I might have been one of them 🫣 You're doing something right. Everyone is excited for the new features each year 🤩

Adoption of new language features in source code by developers has gone well 👍 Deployment of features in production for use in engines is not so good. It lags due to heavy dependence on transpiling down to ES5 for measurable performance wins for mostly unquantified reasons.

I have a list of new JS features in a sticky note that I'd create proposals for. I tried to create one once, I gave up at the point where I had to find a champion.
