While filming Pirates of the Caribbean in London, Johnny Depp received a letter from a local 9-year-old girl asking Jack Sparrow to help stage a “mutiny” against her teachers. Depp unexpectedly showed up at her school dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow—but ultimately advised the students against the mutiny. Johnny Depp visited Meridian Primary School in Greenwich, London, in October 2010 while filming Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides nearby. The surprise appearance was inspired by a letter from nine-year-old Beatrice Delap. Writing to Captain Jack Sparrow on behalf of her classmates, she called them “budding young pirates” and asked for his assistance in staging a mutiny against their teachers. Depp arrived at a school assembly dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow and was joined by other members of the film. Although staff received brief notice, the students had no idea he was coming. Staying in character, Depp joked about Beatrice’s mutiny plan before warning the children that rebelling might get them into trouble. At the time, Depp was working on the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie, On Stranger Tides, near Greenwich’s Old Royal Naval College when Beatrice’s unusual request reached him.

Fiya for life
Underrated life advice: Just be easy to work with. Show up on time. Do what you said you'd do. Bring solutions, not problems. Never create drama. Be responsive. Be emotionally consistent. Be kind. People will always want to support someone who just makes their life easier.

Vaccines are among the most thoroughly studied, effective tools we have to protect children from serious vaccine-preventable diseases. Decisions about how and when vaccines are used should be driven by rigorous scientific evidence, patient safety, and independent medical and public health expertise. Altering a proven vaccination schedule without credible evidence risks weakening public confidence and putting children’s health at risk. If you have questions about vaccines, talk to your child’s physician. Putting our children’s health at risk is not an option Read our full statement: spr.ly/6011B1KUUS

Cam Newton in 2010 or 2005 Vince Young. Watching Cam carry Auburn through the SEC single-handedly, or VY putting up 450+ yards in the Rose Bowl against that stacked USC team was pure magic. Unstoppable (USC fan here)
