It's really funny how Arknights characters are attractive in a really specific unique way that I've no other gacha has done for me. I can't even really explain it but they just... are. Genuinely the artists for this game need to be studied for their character designs. And it's not even the obvious, conventional choices, either. Every single character in this game is suited to at least someone's tastes, and it's done to perfection every time. You like furries? Arknights has some of the best. You like older men? Arknights has some of the best. You like lolis? Arknights has some of the best. You like twinks? Arknights has some of the best. You like armoured characters? Arknights has some of the best. There's truly nothing they can't do, huh? Even if there's character archetypes or tropes you dislike, you can't help but admit the designs themselves are stunning, right? You can appreciate anyone from Melantha to Zuo Le, from Dobermann to Mountain, from Silence to Chongyue, from Aak to Mizuki. Both the men and women of this game are amazing... There will be characters you adore. There will be characters you despise. But never in Arknights is there a truly bad-looking playable Operator. Even the likes of Zima Alter who many dislike and criticise, does have a lot to like with the aesthetics of her design, even if the outfit itself is a little silly. You can tell that the artist had a very specific vision, and did their best to make it what they wanted. The only truly 'bad' design in the game I'd say is Ch'en the Holungday. But she has an incredible skin that makes up for it. Plus, both original Ch'en and Ch'en the Dawnstreak were both amazing. I love Arknights as a mesh of so many different artstyles, with experts all at the top of their game. The game really feels like an ode to creativity itself, allowing for a level of expression and mastery simply unseen in most other gachas. So, what are your favourite artists, characters and skins?
