Yesterday was my first full day back on set since spring 2020. Interviewing is a skill I’ve studied for many years. I find that if I approach each interview as an open ended exploration instead of a list of questions or rote answers I’m after, the result is significantly better.

13 years ago, I emailed Dr. Fauci out of the blue to ask if I might interview him for my undergrad thesis. He invited me to his office, where he answered all my questions. When I sent him the thesis, HE READ THE WHOLE THING (see his overly effusive review below). Who does that?!

I really, really love this principle: lead by saying "I'm sorry." To me, this is foundational to good leadership at home, work, church, school, everywhere. A lot of wounds would be healed if we could all bring ourselves to apologize.
