There is no excuse for inflating your experiences or overstating what you've done, even in a tough campaign. Michigan's auto workers are the best in the world, and stretching the truth to associate yourself with their experience is exactly why Michiganders can't stand politicians. But this is now part of a repeated trend. Last month, Mike claimed that he “saw Osama bin Laden's dead body.” That is easily disprovable. He has further claimed that he "hunted terrorists." That is just straight false. Mike served in the FBI from 1989-1994, where he worked on domestic crime. He was in Congress on 9/11 and any hunting of terrorists he did during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were from the safety of his Capitol Hill office.
