i’ve been running a summer camp for software engineers every summer since 2015 and this year i’ve decided this september will be the last one. i’m truly beyond words. SO damn grateful for everyone who has attended, sponsored, and/or supported my crazy idea to take this on in my 20s. i’ll write a longer recap in time that i’ll turn into a conference talk if you’ll have me 😉 (cc @rubyconf) about how it’s shaped me and what 12 years of building this has taught me about the architecture of belonging and the kinds of communities that become part of who we are. rails camp west was designed from every angle as an invitation to rest, be present, and connect with the people around you. no wifi, no photographers, no cell reception, no strict agenda, no city noise. just us and the woods, lakes, mountains, rivers, and our sacred evening karaoke. the bonds created will live far beyond the space i created for them. but for now, back to my final event prep….one more sleep until @railscamp_USA!!!
