People are officially working just to afford the gas it takes to get to work.

I have nothing against homeowners, but I honestly wouldn’t mind seeing the real estate market crash worse than 2008. When basic housing becomes unattainable for an entire generation, something is clearly broken. I’m not hoping people lose their homes. I’m hoping prices come back down to a level where normal working people can actually afford to buy one.

When I mentioned how expensive rent has become, someone told me I should just move somewhere cheaper. Maybe. But it's strange how quickly we've normalized telling people to leave their communities, live farther from work and give up more of their lives instead of asking why having a decent place to live has become so difficult.

Why the hell do streaming services keep raising their prices? Are they using a diesel truck to physically drive the movies to my house or something?

The hardest part about a 9–5 isn’t the work itself. It’s realizing you spend your most energetic hours working and have to find creativity somewhere in the leftovers.

The more AI fills the internet with fake people, fake stories and fake everything, the more valuable a boring, completely real life is going to become.

I don’t think people realize how much the definition of “doing okay” has changed. We’re not talking about vacations, designer clothes or luxury cars. We’re talking about rent, groceries, a reliable car, health insurance and being able to save a little money. Somehow having a basic comfortable life became the expensive lifestyle.

Wait, before email and Teams, you could actually leave work and nobody could contact you until the next day? You went home, lived your life, and work simply waited for you. Honestly, we really messed this one up.

If someone is too drunk to drive and chooses to sleep in their parked car instead of getting on the road, I don’t understand why that can still result in a DUI in some places. You stayed off the road. You didn’t put anyone in danger. Punishing someone for choosing not to drive feels like the wrong message.

They made houses unaffordable. They made rent unaffordable. Then they made being homeless illegal. You can’t afford to buy. You can’t afford to rent. You can’t afford to be homeless. Make it make sense.

All I wanted was to pay for two hours of parking. Why do I need to download an app, create an account, verify my email, enter my license plate and basically submit a résumé for my car? I’m just trying to park.

What are people supposed to do in a world where work is no longer necessary? We’ve built our entire lives around the idea that you wake up, go to work, earn money and repeat it for 40 years. If technology eventually takes over most of that, we’re going to have to figure out how people find purpose, structure and meaning when a job is no longer the center of their life.

Oil prices are starting to feel like a memecoin. Up because of one headline, down because of another, then randomly reversing again before anyone can figure out what happened. The market is basically trading narratives at this point.

A reminder that living alone in a world built around two incomes is actually an insane accomplishment. If you’re doing it, you’re probably doing better than you realize.

I’m still 100% convinced this job market is worse than 2008. There are people applying to hundreds of jobs, making it through multiple rounds of interviews and still ending up with nothing. Meanwhile every company says they’re “hiring” while somehow nobody seems to be hiring. Something about this just feels completely broken.

If poverty were really caused by people refusing to work, then people who work full-time wouldn’t be poor. But millions of working people are. Maybe the problem is more complicated than “just work harder.”

Trump called Cuba a “failed state” during his UN speech. The Cuban delegation responded by standing up and walking out. Love that for him.

The funniest part about making your first $100K is realizing it doesn’t actually make you feel rich. You start thinking about housing, taxes, investing, retirement, emergencies, helping family, and suddenly $100K feels like a really nice starting point. Then your brain casually decides you need $1M or $2M to actually breathe. 😭

“Solar doesn’t work when the sun isn’t shining. Wind turbines don’t work when the wind isn’t blowing!” Okay, and oil doesn’t exactly come without consequences either. Wars, geopolitical conflicts, pollution, and a planet that keeps getting pushed closer to its limits. Also… batteries exist, you goose. We can store energy when the sun is shining and the wind is blowing.
