My newest take on the rail system in the US is that we don't need hyper trains between cities we need to expand on the rail systems we have in cities already and then connect them. Cleveland has a rail system. We need to expand it to Hudson, Akron, Canton, etc.
Elon Musk has announced his 'Boring Company' is developing a precursor Hyperloop tunnel to travel between Austin and San Antonio Texas
The current drive takes 2.5 hours, the Hyperloop tunnel could drop the drive to less than 30 minutes
