On 20 August we're marking the launch of the Latent-Y Researcher Tier with an evening in San Francisco. We opened it to researchers worldwide in July, putting Latent-Y, our drug design agent, in their hands with a daily quota of designs. It's already clear what that makes possible: ion channel inhibitors that work, CAR-T cells that kill tumour cells, binders the malaria parasite cannot escape. Designing an antibody from scratch used to take a specialist team weeks. Soon any researcher will do it in an afternoon, from a plain-language prompt. Latent-Y is our lab-validated protein design agent. Give it a design goal, or a scientific paper, and it works through to lab-ready sequences. At its core is Latent-X2, our frontier generative model for antibody design, in researchers' hands for the first time and a milestone in its own right. The free daily quota is enough for routine, exploratory campaigns, with on-demand compute for larger ones. We are marking it with an evening in London on 15 July. Next week, I'm giving an invited plenary keynote at @CVPR 2026 in Denver. The talk is titled "Programmable Biology: Generative AI for Molecular Design." I did my PhD in computer vision, so this feels like home turf. Before starting @Latent_Labs, I worked on AlphaFold.
