What Happened With Poki: The Truth
It was an unfortunate few months after @saibdev failed to deliver their contractual obligations for a high five figure contract to develop Poki in its entirety.
After promising a launch in October, their CEO Clark Alesna ghosted me for weeks on end. This left us in a position where our launch was postponed for seemingly no reason. We were left with our reputation in shatters as the community wondered why we did not launch.
After multiple attempts to reconcile and get Poki delivered, Saib CEO Clark Alesna repeatedly made false promises and failed to deliver on delivery dates their company had committed to.
Clark finally responded back, promising to resolve the matter and apologizing for their conduct. Days later, Clark and his team were completely unreachable for many weeks.
Now, our company is entering legal proceedings against @saibdev related to their conduct in our business relationship. We will update our community as these proceedings transpire and when we can comfortably do so without jeopardizing the case.
Our team immediately took initiative and began building Poki from the ground up with our own internal team. We are preparing for imminent launch.
I am incredibly proud of my team who were thrusted to build an entire app from scratch in just 2 months. They were forced to work tireless nights, often to their limits.
This has been an incredibly stressful time for our team as we continue to sustain our company, but we are committed to continuing despite any challenges we may face. There is no problem too big. No challenge too tiresome. No work too hard.
Despite the obstacles, we continue onwards.

Building a full lending protocol on Cardano's eUTxO model pushed us to go deeper on engineering:
Delegated validation pattern — modular validators that delegate to specialized sub-validators, keeping each within size limits
Zero Withdraw Trick — compute the contract only once even with multiple position inputs in a single transaction
On-chain oracle integration — real-time DEX price feeds powering dynamic LTV and auto-liquidation
Partial borrows with position splitting — borrowers can take a portion of any position, automatically splitting the UTxO
NFT-based position receipts — transferable LendNFT/BorrowNFT enabling DeFi composability

@circle's USDCx — a privacy-enhanced USDC built with zero-knowledge proofs — is launching natively on Cardano. Fully 1:1 USD-backed.
Cardano currently has under $40M in stablecoin supply. USDCx taps into Circle's ~$70B USDC pool. Even 0.1% would double Cardano's entire stablecoin base.

How does lending on @levvyfinance actually work?
Lender creates a position — locks principal (ADA, tokens, or NFT) + sets terms (rate, duration, collateral type)
Borrower provides collateral (ADA, tokens, or NFT) → receives the loan
Borrower repays (principal + interest) → gets collateral back
If borrower defaults → lender claims the collateral
Both sides get receipt NFTs (LendNFT / BorrowNFT) as proof of their position. Fully on-chain, fully verifiable.

The grind wasn't just technical.
Most of our dev team is based in Cebu, Philippines. Here's what hit while we were deep in development:
Sept 30 — Magnitude 6.9 earthquake strikes Cebu. Strongest ever recorded in northern Cebu. 79 dead, 750K+ affected, 12,700 aftershocks. Our devs' home.
Oct–Nov — Typhoon Tino (Kalmaegi) devastates Cebu again. 269 dead, 3.5M affected. Entire country under state of calamity.
One week later — Super Typhoon Uwan (Fung-wong). 1.4M displaced, 3M without power.
Our team lived through all of it. Earthquake, back-to-back typhoons — and still shipping commits. We don't say this for sympathy. This is the reality of building from the Philippines.

We owe the community an honest update.
Phase 1 was planned for September 2025. We launched in December — 3 months late.
During development we uncovered critical issues across our smart contracts, API, oracles, and frontend — issues that would have put user funds at risk if we shipped early.
We chose to fix it right rather than ship it broken. We deeply apologize for the delay, and we appreciate everyone who stuck with us through it.
