An appalling column in which a gentile accuses a Jew of “betraying his ancestors” because he opposes a political movement younger than the television. My family are anti-Zionist Jews @aliceTTimes, are they race traitors as well?
Cowardly Polanski has lost control of his party. Burnham should rule out going into coalition with these antisemites thetimes.com/comment/columni…

In the years ahead I will be able to tell people that I was there at the birth of "The Table". Tablemus Prima Maximus.
The Green Party needs a programme. The party had a meteoric rise by defining itself *against* a v unpopular government. Now, we need to be clear about what we are for. Not individual hodge-podge policies - a roadmap of where the country is today and where we want to take it.

Anti-green rhetoric won’t lower bills. Public ownership and regulation will.

Cutting red tape costs taxpayers nothing. It’s a common sense solution to get Britain building.

Genuinely quite sad to see Philip leave. He's put a huge amount of *unpaid* work into the party.
As Twitter is rubbish with long form videos I will simple state that after much thought I have today decided to leave @TheGreenParty and thus resigned from my position of Wales Green Party…1/2 facebook.com/share/v/1Jwi... instagram.com/reel/DeKM_5N... vm.tiktok.com/ZN8kUUfm4/

The manifesto never mentioned a two state solution. I voted for Amendment 1 precisely because British people shouldn't be prescribing specific solutions.
Excl: My interview with former Green Party co-leader, Adrian Ramsay at the end of the party's conference: - Said he is "deeply upset" that Zionism is Racism passed (Ramsay urged members to vote against) - He personally intends to uphold the policies he ran on in the 2024 Green manifesto which he was elected on (e.g. two-state solution). - Calls for reform to party democracy - said conference should be run under a delegate system in future - Said the Greens should put environment "further up the agenda" in order to deal with the 'Burnham bounce' Full piece on @NewStatesman website: newstatesman.com/politics/uk…

Your definition of Zionism does not matter. Nor does mine. Zionism is defined by its material manifestations. The purpose of a system is what it does. And the Zionist system does racism and genocide. Simple. Please spare me the arrogant insufferable graaating Oxbridge debates. Your opinions are irrelevant. People are dying.

One thing which was underappreciated was the in memoriam for Jonathan Tyler, delivered by Jean Lambert. I think it's important, for many newer members, to hear about the party's history. That it was never single issue. That it's always been evolving.

To change the party structures you have to work within the party structures. If the "senior greens" don't like what conference decides, maybe they should be more engaged? Not clock out and react at the last minute?
🟢NEW: What next for the Green Party after the Zionism is Racism motion passes? Once the dust settles, some party figures blv the system of members deciding policy at conference has to go. One Green source told me: "This motion raises big questions about democracy in the Green Party. Fewer than 1% of party members voted on this motion, and there is no way of knowing whether this reflects the views of the other 99% - the 228,000 members who were not in the room. The party’s structures simply don’t work for the size of party we are now. We need to move to a delegate conference system which empowers local parties and local members to have a say through those attending conference, rather than a self-selecting 1% calling the shots." It paves the way for a future fight as members would ultimately have to vote for such a change. Read more: news.sky.com/story/politics-…

Fwiw, I don't think the party structures need changing all that much. I think the membership, the leadership, and the MPs, need to be more organised. Omov requires organisation or it's individualised. That doesn't mean moving to delegate conferences, it means factions.

My view on the debate on Zionism is Racism is this, it wasn't a debate where either side engaged in the other's arguments. Against argued on the strategy and implications, For on the politics. The For side totally ignored the arguments put to them & I don't think that's helpful
