People still misunderstand Bitcoin’s moat. Bitcoin doesn’t need to win every feature race. Privacy, speed, and functionality can be built over time. The moat is its decentralization, security, and credible monetary policy. And on those dimensions, nothing else comes close.

I mean the thing I feel many misunderstand is that bitcoin has to do these things. You can use zcash to break up your identity, and swap to btc. Can use chains for defi with btc. btc can just focus on what it does and let others focus on building around it. especially it seems with bitvm

Still worthwhile to offer the choice for having private Bitcoin without changing Bitcoin itself. Adding these capabilities without changing the protocol or the asset, and without introducing operators, well, this is what we're trying to offer. People may opt into privacy when they value it, but we won't be advocating for forcing it on folks. No pitchfork protesting for soft forks happening here.

You're partly correct. A massive boost for Bitcoin is that it is open source. It can copy any of it's competitors and do it better. That's what it's doing now
