The famine in Gaza never truly ended. It just looks different now. The famine last year looked like no food and people dying to get a bag of flour. The famine now looks like affordable food lacks nutrition like vitamins and minerals. One meal with rice, meat and vegetables per person would cost around $8 each so a family of 7 would need $56. How could anyone afford that in Gaza? The Sameer Project kitchen produces meals of meat and rice for around $3 - less than half of the price of restaurants because we make zero profit. This child hurt himself in Jabalia because he fell while walking in the rubble. Unfortunately this is common, especially in areas in the North that have enormous amounts of rubble. So with someone accompanying they would need $10 or $11 and more than two hours on the road. Our clinic in Jabalia helps avoid all that hassle, and is located in the heart of Jabalia. The Tawba clinic serves around 300 patients everyday, and this includes accidents like this boys, gun wounds, war injuries, chronic illnesses, rashes, and so much more. Palestinians in Gaza are demanding water and as this hajje is saying they need even more than water. They need packages of food and supplies. All basic needs are limited or lacking. When we ask Palestinians in Gaza about the situation they’re living in, they commonly start with saying that they are not leaving. Three years of ongoing genocide and sacrifice will not end with Palestinians being ethnically cleansed from Gaza. “They support us but no aid from the organizations reaches us” - support now: chuffed.org/project/help-us-… This is the sad truth. Aid is not reaching people. Some is blocked from entering the Strip by the military occupation and the trucks have been parked for months, if not years. Other aid is stolen and sold in markets. And also some aid is given through wasta (connections) due to internal corruption that is sadly common in aid organizations. The Sameer Project targets the most underserved and marginalized camps and groups. We purchase the aid inside Gaza and distribute it fairly and with dignity. In April 2025, The Sameer Project opened our first bakery and we make more than 5,000 loaves per day. On September 16th, we gave out 400 bags of bread in Deir El Balah to the following camps: Karama Camp, Sabereen Camp and Karam Camp. If The Sameer Project does not show up, these patients do not receive their lifesaving chronic disease medications. It is that simple. Your donations give us the ability to keep chronic illnesses from becoming medical emergencies: chuffed.org/project/136892-m… On August 31, our medical team returned to the Life and Freedom Camp near Al-Nasr Al-Arabi Club in North Gaza for our third chronic disease follow-up visit. Here, 46 patients were examined and received free medication for conditions including hypertension, diabetes, asthma, atrial fibrillation, ischemic heart disease, and other chronic illnesses. And our team conducted blood pressure and blood sugar checks, individual consultations, health assessments, and education to help patients manage their conditions under extraordinarily difficult circumstances. But what matters most is that we came back. Patients told us they now rely on our Mobile Medical Day visits for their follow-up care and medications. You help us prevent emergencies. Gaza is in pain. If water is provided, people need jerrycans, and if jerrycans are provided people need hygiene products, and so on. The catastrophe is huge and around 2 million Palestinians are suffering. It’s time to rethink the model that was imposed on the Global South for a long time and unlearn the conditioning that we have of “bigger means better”

Many go for the “safer” option and donate to large organizations but with a little research, they’ll find out that many of them don’t have any Palestinians in decision-making positions, particularly Palestinians living in Gaza. And they’ll find out that at least 50% of the donations are sitting in a bank account while Palestinians in Gaza suffer.

Mutual aid groups are not supported by institutions and governments because we don’t accept their conditions. We work for liberation and to give agency back to Palestinians.

International organizations don’t support Gaza without an agenda. They depoliticize humanitarian aid and impose Western frameworks on the communities they serve.
