From a very young age, I felt a calling greater than myself — I began humanitarian work at just seven years old, driven by a deep desire to help others. Years passed, and my journey became one of both service and discovery. After 26 years of searching, I finally found my biological family — a moment that brought both answers and new strength. When devastating floods struck Belgium, I once again stepped forward, continuing my humanitarian mission on the land that had raised me. Then war returned to Ukraine, and I could not stand aside. For two years, I worked as a volunteer, helping organize and deliver hundreds of aid convoys made possible through the generosity of friends in France and Belgium. Every effort, every journey, was fueled by solidarity and hope. But my dream went even further back. At six years old, I dreamed of becoming a soldier. At eighteen, I tried to join the Belgian army — and was refused because of my prosthetic leg. That door closed, but my determination did not. In Ukraine, everything changed. What once seemed impossible became reality. I became the first woman with one leg to join the Ukrainian army, proving that strength is not measured by physical limits but by courage and will. I was honored with a decoration from the head of the marines — a moment that symbolized not just personal victory, but the breaking of barriers. Today, I serve in air defense alongside my brothers-in-arms.
