MISSING ELDER / PUBLIC ASSISTANCE REQUESTED The Santa Monica Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating Irene Averyanova, 93, who was last seen near the 1500 block of 6th Street. Irene is described as a White female of Russian descent. She has been diagnosed with dementia and may be disoriented or in need of assistance. Anyone who sees Irene or has information about her whereabouts should call 9-1-1 immediately. Please provide your location, direction of travel, clothing description if observed, and any other relevant details to dispatch.

Community Update: Mountain Lion Safely Tranquilized and Transported The mountain lion reported in a Santa Monica residential area has been safely tranquilized by a biologist with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. California Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement supported the tranquilization and transportation of the animal. The mountain lion will be evaluated and safely relocated in coordination with wildlife experts, including the National Park Service’s Santa Monica Mountains study area team. We thank the community for its patience, cooperation, and care throughout this response.
