Weiss listed out some of her differences with Thiel. Per a note to Boston Globe staff today, the lesbian bar story generated 1,000 subscriptions to the paper yesterday. The Globe’s managing editor said it was “by far our best performing story of the year,” and appears to be “on pace to shatter all sorts of Globe records.”

As the week closes, a special shoutout to @abtran and @joyceslee, two unsung heroes in The Washington Post landing this week's big Air Force One story.
While @John_Hudson and I worked to confirm details with sources, Andrew and Joyce played incredibly valuable roles chasing down materials that made it impossible for those in power to deny the reporting.
Andrew spent days using aircraft tracker data to build a spreadsheet of any possible jet that could be relevant to the reporting.
Joyce pulled out all stops to help us visually explain what happened, compiling and editing footage that just about every major TV station eventually aired.
This story also went through numerous revisions, with editors @benpauker and @adegrandpre keeping an even keel as we brought this story to standard.
Grateful to them all.
