I would just jump off the boat and swim to shore. 😎
But interestingly, I closed one of my biggest deals at a side event on a boat.
Important tips to survive token 2049:
1) never attend the conference itself - super boring and most of the speakers are v self-indulgent so you can hear the same thing for free in their endless podcast appearances
2) if a side event has a Luma invite then it's probably not worth going to
3) if a side event is at Marquee or Avenue, assume it will have 10x the max capacity turn up (mostly non-crypto people looking for a free drink) and plan to just stand outside for 3 hours
4) never go to Yishun...it's known for random cat murders but they would likely do the same to tourists
5) don't post commentary and pictures of hawker food as if you've found some hidden eating gem...you are an NPC conference attendee, not Anthony Bourdain
6) similarly don't post pictures of KOMA or other MBS shit and make reference to your fine dining experience, unless you want to dox yourself as having the same taste level as a first year student taking his mid-Sinkie gf out for her birthday dinner
7) never go to Mandala club - many people will tell you it's cool, but then you'll realise they are also members and much like memecoin bag holders are stuck in a perpetual hell of having to convince everyone (including themselves) that it's good
8) if you are out late at night and someone suggests 'let's go to Brix' - that someone is likely a sex offender...make your excuses and leave
9) never attend a party on a boat - it's like a normal party except there is no exit. You are stuck talking to people until it gets back to shore, which is often 3 hours too long
10) if you want to do some non-crypto things, don't do tourist stuff and instead go hike around MacRitchie or Bukit Timah...they're much nicer than the city centre
