— CHAPTER II: The Hunt
For years, I searched for him...the animal that killed my family and destroyed my home.
Every tavern in Varrock.
Every guard post from Falador to Edgeville.
Every whispered name bought with Blood Money in places honest men don't visit.
I grew older, i began to train daily and sharpen my skills. I became an assassin, a lethal force, perfected in the art of killing. When my training was over, my mentor...an old friend of my father gifted me a special pair of dragon claws, laced in Amethyst & enchanted in Onyx. They were the only thing left of my father.
Their faces grew harder to remember.
But I never forgot the sound of my mother screaming.
I never forgot my father's body disappearing beneath the smoke as soldiers laughed.
And I never forgot the man holding the sword.
Years passed until, one night, a frightened informant slid a piece of parchment across the table.
There he was.
Sir Aldren Vale.
Once a commander in Varrock's Royal Guard, Aldren had built his reputation by bringing fear into every room he walked in. His aura was demonic and many believed he had special abilities gifted to him by the god of down under.
Where others saw homes, he saw opportunity.
Where others saw families, he saw obstacles.
And every village he left burning earned him another pouch of Blood Money, another promotion, another seat closer to the King.
Eventually, the Crown gave him that title.
Sir Aldren Vale.
A decorated servant of Varrock.
A hero, according to the men who paid him.
The soldier who stood over my parents while my home burned behind him.
Except he wasn't a soldier anymore.
He had a family.
A home.
Blood in the bank.
Gielinor had been kind to him.
While I spent my life carrying the ghosts he left behind.
I thought finding him would bring me peace.
Instead, when I finally stood before him, I felt like that little boy again...
watching Varrock's sky turn orange.
He looked beneath my hood and asked:
“Who are you?”
I leaned closer.
“I'm what survived.”
Then I placed a single red coin beside him as i watched his blood spill from his body.
I watched him remember me as his soul got sent back to his god.
The first name had been found.
The first debt had come due.
And before sunrise...
the first name would be crossed out.
🩸 BLOOD MONEY —
$GP
I remember the night Varrock’s walls turned orange.
I was only a kid when the King’s men came through our village—white armor stained black with smoke, royal banners hanging above homes they’d already condemned.
They called it taxation.
They called it order.
I watched them toss blood-stained GP between themselves while my mother and father lay beneath the ashes of what i once called home.
That was the night I remembered what this Wise Old Man once said...
“Evil wears no single color.
Some monsters kneel to Zamorak and Some to Saradomin...
others sit upon thrones,
with blood beneath their crowns.”
So I grew up in the shadows—between the alleys of Varrock, the wilderness beyond Edgeville, and places where even Saradomin’s light refuses to reach.
Now I collect Blood Money from the men who built their banks on suffering & corruption.
Not for myself.
For every empty stomach in Lumbridge.
For every family forgotten beyond the castle walls.
For every child who has watched the powerful take everything and call it justice.
They put a bounty on my head and call me a murderer.
Maybe they’re right.
But if kings can spill blood for Gold and still call themselves righteous…
then I can spill theirs to bring balance back to Gielinor. 🩸
My parents died with nothing.
I’ll make sure they do too.
