A historic moment in the Oval Office for America’s ranchers. 🇺🇸 Standing alongside @POTUS as he signed historic actions for America’s ranchers: advancing country-of-origin labeling, strengthening tools to combat predators, demanding real accountability in the marketplace, and expanding opportunities for ranchers and processors to sell across state lines. This is what putting America’s ranchers first looks like. There is much more work ahead, but these unprecedented actions mark a defining step forward. Thank you, President Trump, for standing with the men and women who feed our nation. And thank you to the hundreds of incredible producers who have advised, counseled, and worked alongside us as we continue building the most pro-rancher agenda in American history. We will continue working around the clock, including with Congress, whose partnership is essential to delivering the positive lasting change our ranchers need and deserve.

🎉SUNDAY USDA UNSUNG HERO🎉 Some of the most important work at @USDA happens behind the scenes, carried out by incredible people who show up day after day, year after year, decade after decade, administration after administration. It has been one of the most unexpected and inspiring parts of this job over the last 20 months. These servant leaders who work for our farmers tirelessly, who never complain, who smile through different bosses every 4 (or less) years. These are our career staff at USDA — and one of the greatest honors of my life will be working alongside them these short four years. I wanted to do something to recognize their heart and their game changing work… so we announced the first ever USDA UNSUNG HERO AWARD a few months ago. Just a small recognition for a lifetime of work. But that recognition, including taking our winners to the White House, has been such a blessing to me. The one and only LeTonya Mann is one of our true Unsung Heroes. ❤️🇺🇸    If you have spent any time in our building, chances are you know LeTonya. She is truly loved by all, and I am personally so grateful for the warmth, joy, and positive spirit she brings to USDA every single day. She actually slept in her car so she wouldn’t be late for our trip to the White House!!! For countless members of our team, LeTonya is one of the very first people they meet when arriving at USDA. She has transformed our onboarding experience — bringing together everything from HR, payroll, and ethics to USDA’s history and mission, ALL while making every new member of our team feel welcomed, prepared, and immediately part of the USDA family.    She has also been an incredible partner to our Center for Faith, supporting important initiatives including the launch of the USDA National Prayer Shield.    LeTonya, your heart for service and commitment to the people around you do not go unnoticed. You are the best of the best and I am just so grateful to be on YOUR TEAM!! Congratulations on this incredibly well deserved recognition! We love you!!!

Animal welfare is the law, and we are enforcing it. 🐾🇺🇸 @SecKennedy and I brought together partners from @USDA, @HHSGov, the @TheJusticeDept, @EPA, and @LaraLeaTrump to strengthen enforcement and protect dogs. This year, USDA has inspected more than 2,000 dog breeder and broker facilities, trained 98 inspectors, and created a new Animal Protection Bureau to improve compliance and address violations. HHS has launched more than 20 initiatives to reduce unnecessary animal testing and advance human-based research methods. I want to give a special thank you to Lauree Simmons, @BDRRescue, and other organizations who champion this important effort. @POTUS’s administration will continue to fight for animal welfare, or as Bobby said: we’re going to Make America Humane Again.

📍Santa Teresa, New Mexico In 1972, Texas alone faced more than 90,000 New World screwworm cases. Today, there are just 3 active cases in the entire United States. That progress is the result of aggressive action, proven safeguards, and extraordinary partnerships across federal agencies, states, and ranchers. As we safely reopen the Santa Teresa livestock port, every animal moving legally through the port will be inspected in Mexico and again by @USDA — backed by detector dogs and our incredible @USDA_APHIS team. We beat New World screwworm before. We will beat it again, and protect America’s cattle industry every step of the way. 🇺🇸🐂

Harvest season is here, and our state leaders are out meeting the farmers and rural communities they serve. 🇺🇸 I joined @usdaRD and @usdaFSA state directors for our monthly call to discuss support coming to producers this fall and investments in domestic fertilizer and beef processing. In August alone, these directors held nearly 1,000 events and met with tens of thousands of farmers and rural Americans across the country. We still have more work to do to rebuild the agricultural economy. But there is encouraging news this harvest: prices for ALL row crops are higher since President Trump took office! AND at their highest harvest-time levels in three years. Thank you to every director putting in the miles and listening to the people we serve.

QUICK UPDATE ON RANCHER AGENDA:🇺🇸🐂  President Trump promised to put America’s ranchers first — and just weeks after launching our Ranchers First Initiative, our team and partners across the Trump administration and across the country are working around the clock:  ✅ Helping ranchers rebuild their herds: We are fast-tracking the new BRAND Endorsement, which will give ranchers greater financial protection when they retain heifers for breeding instead of selling them.  ✅ Helping ranchers recover from disasters: New guidance allows ranchers with Grasslands CRP acres to access emergency assistance to rebuild perimeter fences and repair other critical infrastructure after wildfires and natural disasters.  ✅ Opening new markets for local meat: New Mexico has joined a federal-state inspection program that allows qualifying local processors to sell inspected meat within state lines. More states coming soon.   ✅ Expanding local processing: We announced up to $50 million to help states establish or expand their own meat and poultry inspection programs — creating more options for ranchers and reducing reliance on the large processors.  ✅ Protecting working grasslands: More than 983,000 acres will enter Grasslands CRP on October 1, keeping land available for grazing while supporting conservation.  ✅ Expanding grazing opportunities: USDA and DOI have expanded grazing access across almost 5 million acres of federal lands, including by reopening vacant and closed allotments and streamlining grazing regulations. ✅ Ending ESG mandates: We stopped mandatory producer checkoff dollars from funding ESG-related projects. Ranchers’ money should promote their products, not advance costly political agendas.  ✅ Expanding markets for American beef: We’ve delivered 20 new trade deals and frameworks, with more to come! American ranchers gained access to Australia’s beef market for the first time in two decades, and a trade deal secured an additional annual duty-free quota of 13,000 metric tons of American beef in the UK. We promised to cut red tape, expand markets, strengthen independent processing, and give ranchers the tools they need to succeed.  There is much more work to be done, but we are making progress! A massive 300-MW solar project that threatened productive farmland in Montgomery County, New York, has been stopped. @GovKathyHochul’s administration approved Flat Creek Solar DESPITE fierce opposition from farmers and a historic Amish farming community. But local residents fought back and WON — and now the developer has surrendered its permit. America should never be forced to sacrifice its most productive farmland to satisfy a radical energy agenda. @USDA will continue standing with American farmers, protecting the land that feeds our nation, and ensuring rural communities have a voice when their future is on the line. BREAKING: @USDA is taking aggressive new action to protect pets and hold bad actors accountable. 🐾      Today, alongside @SecKennedy, @LaraLeaTrump, @JudgeJeanine, @TheJusticeDept, @OIGUSDA, and animal welfare leaders, we announced:      ➡️ The deployment of USDA’s new Animal Protection Bureau to target unlicensed breeders, illegal dog imports, and regulatory evasion
➡️ Strengthening Animal Welfare Act standards for dogs ➡️ A 20% increase in special-agent investigators focused on animal fighting and related crimes   ➡️ A review of breeders who surrendered licenses and may still be operating illegally   ➡️ More than 2,000 regulatory notices reinforcing humane-care requirements      Since February, @USDA_APHIS has conducted 2,000 inspections and more than doubled enforcement actions compared to past years.      Today is a great day for animal welfare — and a bad day for anyone who would do animals harm.
