Today is World Prematurity Day 2025 — an important reminder of the ongoing challenge posed by preterm birth, particularly in twin pregnancies. Over 50% of twins are born prematurely, with a significantly higher risk of neonatal morbidity and mortality compared to singletons. These early births are often the result of spontaneous preterm labour or medically indicated delivery due to complications such as selective growth restriction. Twin pregnancies require tailored surveillance and proactive management.
