If you want yuri / GL, none of us are stopping you from going to that genre. Go do that. Genres are there to help u look for it.
People keep telling me to "look up the definition of otome" and that its "for women only" okay fine then, add a female love interest. Include all women in your game, including queer women. But you won't, because this was never about women, this was about heterosexuals.

You can play LADS as a self-insert or see MC as her own person. But she’ll always be a woman, because the story makes HISTORICAL references to the oppression of WOMEN. Just like how Eiden being gay is important to the lore.

No, NuCarni is not a self insert game. The player is not the MC. The MC is Eiden and only Eiden. You cannot insert yourself into his story, he has his own lore. His lore and by extension his identity as a gay + poly person is important to the story.

Who can play these genres? Anyone! No one should feel discouraged when play a genre because they don't "fit" a certain audience.
