A big takeaway from yesterday's NFT Pearl Harbor was that a lot of folks don't seem to understand how wallets work. So I asked Opus 5.5 to make a video explaining the difference between hot and cold wallets and why cold wallets used incorrectly make you vulnerable.

Just to be clear, a lot of NFTs have been saved by Quit but the affected contracts remain vulnerable.
You should be revoking approvals ASAP. Make sure to use the proper revoke[dot]cash website.
Going forward if you interact with a contract, do it from a dedicated wallet!

At 9AM EST today somebody abused a bug in Payment Processor V2 to steal 10 Meebits, 50 Otherdeeds, 10 WoW, and 235 Desperate Apewives.
It wasn't until over 12 hours later that somebody reported it to me, and upon digging in I realized that a great many NFTs were subject to the same exploit.
I got in touch with the team over at LimitBreak and they quickly paused Payment Processor V3, which was subject to the same exploit. Unfortunately, V2 was not pausable, so the only path towards protecting affected assets was to run a whitehat operation.
Similarly, V3 on ApeChain is temporarily in a state where it cannot be paused, so ApeChain assets approved to V3 needed to be saved as well.
All in all, we rescued 23,155 NFTs worth north of $5.7M USD.
We later discovered that a similar exploit could be used in reverse to steal WETH. 660 WETH was at risk, which we unfortunately were not fast enough to recover. Apologies to those affected.
Shout out to @Boomskite for flagging the initial exploit tx to me, and @coffeedev @0xjustadev and @whiteoakkong for acting quickly and assisting with the recovery.
All NFTs are safely relocated. Soon, owners will be able claim them back after revoking the exploitable approvals.

One of the biggest tragedies in web3 is the allure of physical products as a siren song for growth.
Physical products are great retention and community building tools. But pursuing them as the key to real world success at an early stage is a mistake.
The people who promote this strategy have Stockholm syndrome. If “web2 success” were a real metric, the few projects that have had a couple of wins in that realm would be trading much higher, not at multiyear lows.
This is not a dig at anyone. It is an invitation to open your eyes and realize that the music you heard was a delusion. If you do not believe me, ask your favorite AI. The margins are atrocious. Design and production are expensive. Shipping, tariffs, and all that noise keep getting worse.
Most importantly, no web3 IP has enough natural demand beyond the people already here to turn a profit on physical products. Check the Amazon rankings for any web3 IP product if you do not believe me.
Yes, you can spend $25 million creating products. But if you only sell $10 million, it makes no sense. The only real reason to do that is if you can sell it as a token story and monetize it through token sales.
That brings me back to a point I have made before: digital products are, and will continue to be, the best source of growth for web3 companies. Among them, the ecosystem token is the product with the highest revenue potential for the company.

We’ve had some players mention that the 3D background showing the factions either destroyed or standing made loading the website difficult on some browsers, so we built a Wireframe version that is much lighter and faster to load.

The Nightshades website now has a wireframe mode for faster loading. This reduces load times by not fully rendering the 3D backgrounds and should help minimize issues for those who had experienced them.

Finally got a chance to stop by the “Websites, Websites, Websites!” Exhibition and it is superb. Truly captivated by most of the pieces, but “Solitaire Alone Together” really had me reflecting on my own experiences with the internet and how it’s shaped my life and relationships.

3.5 years ago today, our family bought our first @MeebitsNFTs .
At the time, it was a fortune for us.
A lot has happened in those 3.5 years — in the space and in life. But letting go of our Meeb was never really up for debate.
I genuinely enjoy reading @sergitosergito’s perspectives on our space. His conviction, his love for the collection, and the way he approaches his leadership with depth, transparency and foresight deeply resonates with me.
Honoring the roots of the collection while thoughtfully building what comes next makes me genuinely curious to see what great place Meebits will ultimately hold in the history of NFTs — and I’m looking forward to being along for the journey.
Still here. Still our Meeb. Still part of the family story…

I really wish NFT teams were more open about the initiatives that didn’t work out, the setbacks they faced, and what they learned from them, instead of only sharing the wins or, worse, exaggerating or misrepresenting them.
Obvs, in the land of streetwear Disney adults, where make believe is preferred to reality, this would be frowned upon. Oh no, the tragedy of facing the truth that there is a 20 year old sneaker flipper inside the Mickey costume!
I do think more openness could create a more pro-builder environment, with people who understand and value the resilience these companies exhibit, rather than folks who still feel entitled to things years after buying a secondhand product.
