The Clarity Act is dead.
Before the post-mortems and the planning sessions begin, a note of thanks.
Many of you worked extremely hard on this bill over the last 18 months. You fought harder than most people will ever know to make sure we had a good product that actually worked for crypto. It required countless hours of research and analysis; endless calls and meetings to build consensus; rewriting the same sections over and over to find common ground; winning points and making concessions one by one in pursuit of an ambitious goal.
Those efforts were a success. The bill did not pass, but neither did you compromise on your principles or the ultimate goal. It would have been easy to strike deal at any point by simply giving up and rolling over, and you were asked to do so every single day for 18 months. You did not. Your strength, courage, and confidence won the day. You should be proud.
Many of us said since the start of this process that no bill is better than a bad bill, and by that metric, today is a victory. The Senate considered a good bill today, not a perfect one but a good one, and turned it down. The raw politics of the United States during an election year meant a good deal was not on the table. That's okay.
Crypto will be fine without the Clarity Act. We are lucky to have two agencies, the SEC and CFTC, with all of the excellent staff and authority they need to do the job. They're ready to be unleashed, and so they shall be. The future of crypto policy is bright.
Thank you all for your hard work. Breathe a sigh of relief, take a break, and get ready for what's next. We've only just gotten started.

With CLARITY stalled, I expect the SEC, CFTC, and Treasury to advance rules under existing law, banks to expand Bitcoin custody and loans against it, and more capital to favor Bitcoin and digital credit. GENIUS supports stablecoin adoption. Progress need not wait for Congress.

Make a plan to vote!
Millions of SWC advocates asked their Senators to pass market structure legislation. They called, emailed, showed up at in-state offices, and even flew to D.C.
Today, their Senators failed them, choosing to stand in the way of progress instead of delivering for their constituents.
This November, crypto voters will show up and demonstrate their power at the ballot box.

Today’s failed procedural vote on the CLARITY Act reflects the broader dysfunction of our government institutions.
Both sides will point fingers, but neither will accept responsibility. Republicans and Democrats have had years to negotiate and find a path forward.
Instead, what we got was political theater—politicians more interested in putting on a show and scoring points against the other side than doing the hard work of legislating.
A house divided cannot stand. Today, it failed to move forward.
I’m not worried about the crypto industry - we will be fine.
I’m worried about the future of our country—and what happens when a government can no longer come together to serve the people it represents.

Co-sign this. I don't hate cannabis in the slightest but it's literally become the primary infringement on civil society and property rights. You're ruining someone else's time.

WOW 🚨 It's being reported that Maria Bartiromo was FIRED for wanting to cover President Trump's declassification of China's 2020 election interference.
"Maria Bartiromo wanted to pursue a story related to China and 2020 election voting conspiracies... a major sensitivity for the network given its Dominion and Smartmatic lawsuits.
A Fox Business executive sent a text to Fox Business producers informing them that that story could not go to air."
If this is true, then Fox News is trying to cover for the Chinese communist party hacking and interfering with our elections.
Everything that President Trump discussed in the speech is declassified information from the CIA, NSA, and FBI.
So there would be no lawsuit that fox would have to be worry about because the information is declassified information.
So essentially, Fox News is covering for the Chinese communist party stealing, rigging, and hacking our elections.
