Repeat Harrison Sawyer took a pay cut to move from #SMFC to the #ALeague‼️
Think about that against the narrative that NPL clubs don’t have the capital to compete in the A League.
Yes, he would’ve had another day job. But it shows that we need to re-think what’s possible.
Put simply, this is a "dream final" for a player who left South Melbourne to pursue his A-League dreams.

Cup dream ... Paul Trimboli played a record 430 games, scored a record 115 goals and captained two NSL championships. Where does he believe an Australia Cup win would rate in @smfc history? >>> bit.ly/3TIwTpK

🚨NEW KARAISKAKIS UPDATE!
Piraeus mayor Giannis Moralis has revealed major new details after yesterday's meeting with the Greek government.
🏟️ Current Karaiskakis will NOT be demolished
Instead:
🔨 An entirely new tier will be added
⬆️ Stadium rises approximately 10 metres
👥 ~33,000 ➡️ 53,000 seats
📅 Target construction start: JUNE 2027
🏟️ Olympiacos ➡️ OAKA for two seasons
🏠 Target Karaiskakis return: 2029-30
💰 As previously mentioned, project privately financed and no state funding requested.
Moralis says an implementation roadmap was agreed yesterday and should begin moving quickly. June start is dependent on legislation and approvals.
It will be an entirely different scale for the home of Olympiacos. 🔴⚪

"It was hard because I had to take a little bit of a pay cut. But I was like, I’m not going to not take it. When I was at @smfc, yeah, I was getting paid more doing that than what Macarthur offered me initially."

The contrived apathy, like that of the superfan who wrote that stupid 360 article, is specious.
Hope you flog ’em.

Absolutely farcical from #BBEV (#McVictory) & we’ve seen them run this playbook before (see 👇 post from the @fcgreenandgold podcast). However, the difference today is that this #AustraliaCup Final didn’t need the help of this #FAKE⚽️ #MCFRANCHISE🍟!
After all, their opponent is 🇦🇺⚽️’s most historic club, & if they keep remaining 🤫, the mighty 🔵⚪️ “dormant fanbase” may just end up outnumbering the “20,000 paper members” with actual supporters in the 🏟️!
I recall in the #AustraliaCup Semi Final (vs Lions FC), South supporters were chanting “there’s only one team in Melbourne”, & in the lead up to Saturday’s final, evidently this has been the case no? 🤔

🚨PROOF MVFC FEAR SMFC🚨
So you’d think in the 3 week lead up to the biggest #AustraliaCup final in history & 1 of biggest 🇦🇺 club games ever, #MVFC socials would be going crazy. NOT‼️Once again they’re trying to avoid SMFC & promoting what we bring to 🇦🇺⚽️. We smell their fear‼️
