LQT:
a good woman in a man's life is one of the few things he will never have to ration his admiration for. if she is yours, and she meets you where you are, understands the man you are and the man you are becoming, there's almost no reason to be measured in how highly she's regarded. you'll almost always want to marvel at her. you'll want to look at her and still be somewhat astonished that, of all the people in the world, this is the woman who has chosen to stand beside you. whatever beauty and glamour you possess, whatever you can afford to give, whatever tenderness you have learned to express, i think a woman like that is deserving of all of it.
and i don't believe a woman becomes overrated because a man speaks too highly of her. if anything, i think a man's admiration for his woman ought to be allowed to become excessive, in the way that love itself often is. i want to think she is the most beautiful woman in the room, even when people think the room contains women "objectively" more beautiful than she is. to hell with the room! to hell with objectivity! i want to see her with the eyes of a man who has found something worth marvelling at, and i don't see why i should have to dilute that simply because there are other ways of measuring beauty.
i want to make much of the little things about her that nobody else would notice, to be fascinated by her peculiarities, to praise the things she does effortlessly and to make her feel magnificent for simply being the woman she is. she needs not the validation anyway, but i want to feel the need to give it; i find something deeply satisfying in giving a woman i love the full measure of my admiration. if she is yours in the truest sense, why would you ever want her to feel ordinary to you?
