We just rebranded VocalLab, an AI voice app competing with ElevenLabs ($11B). Here's how we made it stand out.
Most AI products look alike now. To stand out, a brand needs something only it can have.
VocalLab is about voice. So we built the whole brand around sound waves.
Then we went further than a brand book.
We built an app that turns a voice into on-brand visuals. Record a few words, and every syllable becomes a strip of color and shape.
Now the team can make new visuals from any voice, or using templates. without waiting for a designer.
Brand doesn't need a trend. It needs an idea that comes from the product.

AI makes decent screens quickly. But it gives you what most apps do.

I told him with this design users won't trust it, and they'll just leave
He hired me to fix it. 4 years later he still comes back with new products
I've been saying the same thing ever since. We designed Continuum, a web3 app, from zero. They raised $2M and hit 65.5% stickiness. We designed for a defi protocol with 40k+ holders, and a self-custody wallet with an ai agent for @unhosted. I did design explorations with the co-founder of @LiskHQ. Before that, I designed at @DeFi. 30+ crypto, fintech and ai products so far.
With @sollasdesign we find where users get lost, say it straight, and fix it right in the live product. You approve decisions, you don't manage a designer
New users decide in the first minute whether they trust your product with their money and a prettier ui won't change that

- Short, optional feature explanations
