Posting a comment I made on Ahlaundoh’s most recent video about Warrior design / the problem moving forward in Forever that Warrior’s are facing. This also touches on my recent issue with Hunter’s pets getting mortal strike / other classes abilities. Been keeping tabs on the approach to Warrior design and it’s glaringly similar to the situation at the start of SoD. Even in SoD. Comparatively to other classes ~ Warrior lacked refreshing redesign or fun flavor abilities. We got death grip at the end, in my opinion, because the devs felt bad and wanted to toss us a bone. The approach they took right off the rip to warrior design in SoD was similar to how they’re doing it in Forever.. except SoD was even more “retail esque” with the abilities they were testing on OTHER classes. Whereas Forever seems to be a lot more tame (from what we know).. so with that, you can deduce that Warrior in Forever will get even LESS new/fun/intuitive abilities than SoD. NOT good. Can only echo the sentiment that most Warriors don’t care about being #1 dps anymore. Nerf our damage. Just make our damage more fun to put out. Make the class scrappy in PvP and not a victim of its 20 year old out dated melee design. I’m all for other classes getting new / cool stuff from future expansions. Hunters with MS pets. Mobility spells like shadowstep / disengage.. whatever. But when I see that happening AND Warrior design remains relatively dry.. we have a problem, imo. Not all of SoD warrior design was bad, either (tier 1 set was dope, juggernaut, throttling rage above 80 to maintain buffs, etc). However it focused heavily on % dmg modifiers / pre existing abilities being proc’d and more readily pressed (which.. only made the class feel like a more “activated” version of its 2004 design.. and that’s cool BUT.. once again pales in even the slightest comparison to any of the other classes 6+ new abilities received from future expansions.. not even counting fun PvP utility spells every class received). By no means is Warrior an easy class to enhance, either. The archetype in most fantasy settings is relatively straightforward and plain.. but there are really cool ideas that can be implemented without breaking the class or making us “too OP” (which once again is really just a matter of tuning new DPS abilities down.. something most warriors are very ok with, as long as we’re fun!) Just some thoughts. There’s so much more I could write and talk about. Probably better in video format. Rage normalization also feels especially bad and I don’t think it belongs in the Classic state of the game. Especially when there isn’t really anything being added to make up for its implementation. Makes the class feel extremely flat. @AggrendWoW @Zirene @ClaytonStone

When you play a beta of a game you’re certainly subconsciously exposing yourself to a majority of that initial “magic” you might feel on a fresh launch / first time experience that is actually live & real. Dislike the idea of betas but they seem like a necessary evil >_<
