Today was almost certainly Locksley’s last game at Maryland. I liked Locksley but things got really ugly the last few years. Back-to-back eight win seasons was the peak but he never won the big game and his teams were always undisciplined.
Obviously, the entire fan base wants him gone and his tenure ran its course, but this isn’t a desirable job. No respectable coach with legitimate options would take the Maryland job. Spending on par with Northwestern, MSU, and Rutgers, so that’s where they’ll finish in the standings. Don’t expect this program to turn around just because Locksley is gone.
