Sovright welcomes Colby Thomson to its Board of Directors. Colby has spent more than a decade working across human rights, financial privacy, and AI safety, with a consistent focus on protecting individual autonomy as technology advances. Since 2016, he has served on the board of the Human Rights Foundation (@HRF), helping support privacy and free-expression tools for people living under repressive governments. He is also the founder and CEO of the Good Ancestor Foundation, which funds work across digital security, AI, biosecurity, resilience and human rights. He brings to the Sovright Board his extensive governance experience along with a deep understanding of how privacy infrastructure protects individual autonomy.

Alan Fairless @alanfairless co-founded SpiderOak in 2006 with one rule built into the product: not even SpiderOak could read what its users stored. That model earned praise from Edward Snowden. Alan later brought that experience to Zcash governance, and now to Sovright’s Board of Directors.

Christina Garman @CryptoGPS co-authored Zerocash, the 2014 paper that became the basis of Zcash. Today, she’s a leading researcher in TEE security, most recently authoring the breakthrough tee.fail exploit. She’s an associate professor at Purdue. She serves as a member of Sovright’s Board of Directors.

Sudo has been a strong advocate for privacy and served on Zcash’s first grant committee in 2021. She brings 20 years of experience working across investment roles and technology startups. She was Anchorage Digital’s first business hire, helping take it from pre-product to its first $1bn in AUM. Today @sudo_ml serves as Chairman and Project Lead of Sovright, focused on technology that preserves human agency.

Zaki Manian has been working on privacy since 2013, when he helped organize against mass surveillance through Restore the Fourth. Today, @zmanian serves on Sovright’s Board of Directors and as Head of Engineering. A veteran cryptographic builder, his work spans Zcash, Cosmos, iqlusion, and Sommelier.
