We have saved the best speech from our most successful conference to date for last. Lena Kotré is an AfD state MP for Brandenburg, and she flew to Britain to bless us with an excellent and incredibly inspiring speech. Once again, thank you to @KotreLena for giving us your time and wisdom! Lena Kotré "Moderation Not Necessary"

Should we legalise crack and heroin then? I can see the policy title now: RESTORING THE BRITISH TRAP HOUSE BRITISH CROPS, FOR BRITISH WORKERS
Replying to @KaiStephensYT
Heroin and crack has been illegal since before I was born, I see crackheads and smackheads in the street on almost a daily basis. Making something illegal doesn't stop it.

Our last speech of the evening was from Party Chairman, Dr Jim Lewthwaite (@BritDemLeader), in which he laid the blueprint for a Nationalist, Distributist economy, alongside the core ideological elements Nationalist policy must follow. Genuinely some of the best speeches I’ve heard came from the BDP conference last Saturday. The direction the party is going in is certainly one that should be noted as they have a fantastic ideological base, with the native British people at heart, and aesthetics to be adored!
Politics student, Wren (@springfulwren), joined our party just a month ago. Here are her thoughts on her first British Democrats conference!

"Got to say that I have read a lot of what's been coming out and find it hard to compute. How can one be against libertarianism whilst advocating for distributism (which is a libertarian ideology spawned from liberalism)?" It's because you still don't understand distributionism or you have confused distributionism with a subsect of libertarian distributism. Rather than type it all out I had an AI explain it. SS attached. Additionally, the BDP is not adopting distributionism as the defining center or the party, but as an economic directive. "Taking from what works" - utilising distributist principles means favoring local high streets, protecting small family businesses, and opposing corporate monopolies. Without needing to endorse a broader, abstract philosophical framework. - "How can one be against reactionary Thatcherites whilst declaring that nationalism is reactionary?" Because those two things are not the same but are both reactionary to radical socialism. They react in completely different directions. Thatcherism aggressively financialises the economy and deregulates markets. With little regard for the little person. A pro-British nationalist framework reacts by seeking to preserve local community stability, heritage, and national industry. - "How can one decry a lack of ideology whilst not having one and saying one has to be created?" Because we as a party are at a new beginning. We have a good sense of our direction and it's internally consistent across our leading members. We are in the midst of the strategic process which will clarify it as a whole. But it would be more accurate to say we decry a lack of principle and vision. Where Reform and Restore are very much reacting to current events and taking foreign funding, we have a specifically pro-british vision funded by our members. - "It's all just lip service to concepts with zero actual comprehension." You are the expert there.

Western Liberal Democracy is a fraud against its population, as consent will always be manufactured by elites via the mechanisms of propaganda. Social media and direct campaigning methods undermine this manufactured consent.

Sincerity and self-awareness underpins the BDP, for a start! But anyway: 1. Aversion to Libertarianism as it keeps us dependent on mass migration (Restore does not understand this.) - Kai and Tristan 2. Build a core ideology, as opposed to engage in endless culture war slop. - Kai 3. Aversion to foreign lobbies and power (Restore does not do this, you just don't know it yet.) - Kai 4. You do not need to move to the centre to gain support, build it and they will come - Lena Kotre 5. Building an ideology around Distributism as a way of harnessing capital in the interests of the Native British - Dr. Jim Lewthwaite. 6. Contesting elections effectively requires proving oneself as capable of being a councillor, and doing good within your community. - Cris Bateman 7. Self defining as ethno-Nationalist - Jim Lewthwaite Just a few off of the top of my head!

The issue that the British Democrats had was that it was missing some ingredients. I said in my speech that if it's media team was as good as Homeland's at peak (which was never really that good!), we would be in the O2 Arena. An exaggeration, sure, but not entirely far from the truth. The British Democrats is stable, sensible, and sharp. I joined the British Democrats after being invited to their Christmas dinner in London, and after meeting the core team in person, levelling my honest criticisms with them, and judging their responses to my criticisms, I concluded that it has far more potential than Homeland ever had, and I stand by that. (We also had a lot of fun sharing tales over drinks! It wasn't that hostile.) The first thing I learned was that they are open to criticism, and invite it, which is extremely rare. In Homeland, if you disagreed with the leadership you would be screamed at to leave, and insulted viciously. Secondly, they are self-aware. They know where their shortcomings are, media, lack of young members, and want to improve on that front, and this year, despite the time constraints from campaigning, the party has moved leaps and bounds in this department, with more to come. Thirdly, they have an excess of strategic knowledge and talent that has not been passed down to my generation in any meaningful way, the issue is having the people to implement it at scale. Restore and Reform naturally dampen this significantly, yet despite their presence, the party has grown at a similar rate to Homeland in 2024, despite the media related flaws, and the party I guarantee will see consistent, sustainable growth because we are a genuine, stable, nationalist party. Lastly, they are amongst the most kind, genuine Nationalists I've ever made. No power grabs, no plotting, just a core of genuine activists who want nothing more than the best for their own people. All aforementioned areas will be improved upon overtime, especially as more vital talent joins, and despite the hard competition out there I can promise you this: The Nationalists in the British Democrats are much happier, and optimistic for the future than the ones in Restore.

I compared the BDP to a living embodiment of purgatory recently but they seem intent on proving me wrong, I've got a feeling a lot more people will be anticipating their conference next year
