This is where I think UGC gets really interesting
A brand can give 20 creators the exact same product and get 20 completely different pieces of content
Some will be terrible
Some will be decent
And then one will randomly be way better than everyone expected
That's the whole game

One thing I've noticed with startups is how willing people are to respond
I've cold DMed founders, creators and people at companies I had no connection to and way more of them responded than I expected
That's probably one of my favorite things about the startup world

I got my job at SideShift through a TikTok DM.
which still sounds kinda stupid when I say it out loud lol.
but that's genuinely how it happened.
I had been running my media agency since high school, working with athletes and making content.
then I spent a summer at Barstool.
I knew I wanted to get deeper into startups after that.
found SideShift.
saw what they were doing with creators + UGC.
sent the CEO a TikTok DM.
and now I run creator partnerships there.
you can get pretty far by actually reaching out.

A little over a month ago I jumped off the deep end and finally posted my first video on social media
Fast forward to now, and I have gathered over 2.5M views, 2k followers, and gotten reached out to by brands I have admired for a long time
Not only this, but I have been able to confidently QUIT MY CORPORATE JOB to chase my dreams and move to NYC to work for a unicorn startup
The amazing team at @sideshift_app is giving me the opportunity of a lifetime to help turn them into a billion dollar company
To anyone who underestimates the power of social media and the creator marketplace, I feel sorry for you.

Someone botted our last YouTube video and it led to me closing a massive deal...
I was looking at YT metric data and saw a huge uptick randomly within 12 hours and i'm 99% it was not organic.
Funny enough, we were in the final stages of negotiation with a brand who is new to mass creator campaigns and their decision maker, who i've become friends with randomly saw our last YT video and saw it had 5k views within 24 hours 😂😂
He said to me if we can get 2500+ views on youtube long form then "you must be able to do something right"
Life has a funny way of working itself out, so to whoever tried to bot us for whatever reason - nice work you actually just helped us out tremendously
( ofc i later told the brand about this )
