A pleasure meeting U.S. Special Presidential Envoy Tom Barrack again today to discuss the longstanding Kurdistan-U.S. partnership. I expressed my gratitude for continued American support and President Trump's friendship with our nation. We agreed to continue to advance trade and energy investment, and to support the new federal government to serve all Iraqis equally and on the basis of the Constitution. We stressed the urgency of reactivating the Kurdistan Parliament and forming a new KRG cabinet to move past the current political stalemate.

I spoke with @USAMBTurkiye Tom Barrack and we condemned the attacks on the Kurdistan Region and the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. We also discussed the situation in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the wider region.

Less than a year ago, we promised to solve Erbil's water shortage for the next 30 years with a $480 million investment. Today, we delivered on that promise. Clean 24-hour water now flows to neighborhoods in Erbil in the first phase of the Emergency Water Project.

Here's my promise. Every family and business in the Kurdistan Region will enjoy 24/7 electricity by the end of 2026. The pilot neighbourhood in Erbil has succeeded. We're working in parallel with local officials in Slemani and Duhok to end this 33-year-old problem together.

On the 126th anniversary of the release of the first Kurdish newspaper which coincides with the anniversary of the Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate, I express my heatfelt congratulations to all of the journalists in Kurdistan and wish them continued success.

I strongly condemn the horrific terrorist attack in Moscow last night. My thoughts are with the injured and the families of the victims. We stand with the people and government of the Russian Federation in this difficult moment.

I condemn in strongest terms the barbaric attack against civilians in Moscow. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families and the people of Russia. Terrorism is a global threat and the international community must stay united to defeat it.
