This research matters because governments and investors could be planning Africa's energy future with an incomplete picture of the power system that's already there. Africa's energy transition isn't just being planned. It's already being built from the bottom up.

Rooftop panels on homes and businesses will likely make up about 75% of Africa's new solar (2023-2025), meaning homes & businesses generate power where they use it, often because grids are unreliable and diesel generators are expensive.

The call to #StopEACOP continues. ​Across East Africa, faith communities are raising their voices against the crude oil pipeline. This is about standing with affected communities & advocating for a just transition centered on Africa’s renewable future & care for creation.

We support African youth building agritech and postharvest systems on this invisible distributed solar. The capacity is real, but planners treating it as nonexistent will miss the food security impact.
