🔲 as an artist -the biggest support has been connecting w so many international artists. people from around the world with their own land based impact stories to tell i continue to acknowledge my ancestors along with our present and future generations - where we collectively evolve through art, language, and culture and that without doing so - much of our land based histories would be lost this piece was created in 2025 to acknowledge sept 30th which is the National day for Truth and Reconciliation #TRC i think about what the TRC means to me as a northern First Nation member: my bear clan mother as a residential school survivor, for me as a sixties scoop survivor, and my twin sister as a Missing Murdered Indigenous Woman #MMIW i encourage all to keep sharing, stay strong, and connected with a kind and open heart ᑭᐢᑌᔨᐦᑖᑯᓯᐏᐣ ᐅᐸᐢᐲᐘᐠ kistêyihtâkosiwin opaspîwak “honour the survivors” ~ 🔺🔺🔺 learn more here: Confronting Genocide in Canada: The Canadian Museum for Human Rights recognizes that the colonial experience in Canada, from first contact to the present, constitutes genocide against Indigenous peoples.
